The George and Dragon has a typical British pub atmosphere and is a great place for proper British Sunday lunch. The traditional English roast beef is as good as I can get at home and comes with all the usual Yorkshire pudding, mashed and roast potatoes, mushy peas, parsnips and lashings of gravy. It's always good and good value.

The George & Dragon pub/restaurant is quite close to the Sea Cliff Hotel and well worth a visit.
The bar atmosphere is good and the service is great. Good beers on offer and very good food.
There is a choice of rooms - the main bar with a great atmosphere and Air Con, a 19th Hole with TV sport and outside a beer garden and eating area with a barbeque running most of the time.
Don't miss it.

The George and Dragon is great place which is frequented predominately by ex-Pats. It is really in two halves. The pub, which does a pretty good pastiche of an English Pub, and the Garden - which is a bit like a good quality hotel pool bar: ornamental pool and fountain, colored decorative lighting, seating around the outside bar and then wooden bench style seating. The food was very good, and exceeded my expectations. They have an outside bar menu and an inside one. We had starters from the first and main courses from the latter. We were a group and shared the starters. Each starter / light meal was deep fried served with chips - we had battered prawns, (really tasty), beef patties in spicy coating, (excellent) and a similar chicken dish (also very good). For mains I had a steak, (wrapped around cheese and chillies) which was BBQ'd perfectly, served with decent mash and a mustard style sauce.

PROS: A good crowd on Friday nights, the steaks are fantastic, good choice of drinks :-)
CONS: Service leaves much to be desired; waiters are not attentive and prefer to serve regulars first :-(

Nice atmosphere, reasonably good food, George and Dragon is a good hang out, even if the smokiness is off-putting.
