I stayed in sapphire for ten days when i was in dar es salaam. I enjoyed staying there. The staff and management are friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean. They have a back up generator when power went off.

This hotel was good clean beds a little hard but most of all a good quiet sleep on the 8th floor. Rooms made every day. Nice clean towels and some toiletries. Only downfall is the Africa service! The breakfast was....poor was like having dinner not breakfast. Noodles and flatbread and lentils! THE WORST WAS FROZEN BUTTER! How are we supposed to spread that on the toast! REALLY!!!
THE STAFF ARE SLOW. THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND SIMPLE THINGS AND THEY GET IT WRONG. THEY JUST DON'T LISTEN!!
My uncle waited for an omelette for 15 mins and when they brought it out they brought 2!!

Room Tip: Top floor quiet on the 8th nice big rooms.

good value for the price, clean and safe.
the service is on the slow side and not al the amenities promised are actually there:
there was no wi-fi in the rooms when ewe were there and you had to go to the lobby to surf the net.
the restaurant is unispiring and there's no gym contrary to the ad.
but it is fairly priced and ok on most grounds

Room Tip: if you use the laundy service, please ask them clearly NOT to write the room number on your clothes like they did to us...

Staff are helpful but not always the most friendly. We had several questions about transportation and the local area and they seemed bothered to have us interrupt them. The location is not the best but Dar es Salaam is not for wandering around anyway. The room was small but clean and the shower was good. A/C worked well and is a must have. WiFi signal doesn't reach past the lobby you'll have to hang out there to get connected.

I booked this hotel online, but phoned as well to make sure my booking was received. I got a very unhelpful lady on the phone who told me to call back the next morning. When I explained this was impossible she said it was OK.
I arrived the next day, around midnight to find out the hotel was fully booked and they had no room for me. Again, an extremely unhelpful lady at the reception, who only told me the rooms were fully booked and it was not her fault.
Even if the rooms are good and cheap etc, I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. And please do not try to book this hotel online or by phone!
