My stay here was my first trip to TZ and the only hotel I have stayed in so far in Dar. To be fair I didn't pay for the accommodation, my company did. To me it's an average hotel - it's not too shabby but not too chic either. My room was nice enough, quite roomy, free wi fi, and I liked the fact that I had a balcony too, albeit it not a great room view but I was there for business.
My only complaints are about the bathrooms (and I should have mentioned it to the staff, but I honestly kept forgetting) 1) there was the leak in my bathroom over the sink area. 2) Another is that the bathroom door didn't close properly because of the sink counter top getting in the way. 3) The light in the area where the bath and toilet were didn't work.
Because my bedroom was right opposite the reception I was a bit worried about noise; but I have to say I slept very well so no complaints there.
The breakfast as stated in other reviews was not that great to be honest. Some pastries were moldy and the selection just not what I was expecting. A bit boring and tasteless. Sadly I had a hard time trying to get room service to understand what I was ordering (the minute steak sandwich) - but we did get there in the end and they got the order right too!
The atmosphere was good enough, and the staff seemed friendly enough. The view of the bay is lovely. It's also not in the heart of town; a bit far away but I liked the fact that it was peaceful.
I think if Management steps up its game, and takes all the negative reviews into consideration this would be a great hotel to visit.
