“Interesting museum”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

Don't miss the dance on weekends, these guys are amazing! Also observe the drums, and the dresses. The village is interesting to learn about housing from different parts of the country! This historical open air village is surrounded by building, contrast is interesting. Don't forget to check opening hours. Can be combined with the visit of sea cliffs and Oyster Bay.

The dance performance was the good experience form this visit. The Museum itself needs repair. Some houses had roofs that had fallen in!

“Traditional Dance Made the Day!”
Reviewed 21 July 2014 via mobile

Our very large family visited this museum. We have all age groups and everyone enjoyed it. Hands-down though what made this experience incredible was the traditional dance. The museum itself is interesting and the guide was very knowledgeable but the dance is what made our visit - a five-star visit. All the dancers were incredible and involved the children for fun and laughter as well as some very memorable photographs. This experience was one of the best memories the kids will have Africa :)

“タンザニアの文化・踊りなど Know as "Makumbusho" as well (Stay till dawn when traditional dance starts)”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

Here also known as "Makumbusho", if you go by public transportation, bus driver should know by this name. It is conveniently located close from Dar city center. This museum has replica of the buildings from Tanzania with English descriptions. What I recommend is, better stay till evening, when Tanzanian traditional dance starts. It lasts around 1-2hrs and worth to see, to understand Tanzanian culture! Support Tanzanian Youth. As the dates might change to have performances, (when I went there it was Wednesdays), better cross check directly with them or with tourist offices. Oh and they also offer Tanzanian dishes at restaurant, which is also recommendable! Was tasty as well.
