This was a second visit to the hotel within 2 months, the service that we received was excellent. Myself and my family were highly impressed with the hotel management and staff in their level of service and quality. From check in to check out the experience was excellent, the atmosphere was perfect, the staff were very helpful, the food is good, the beach and waterpark was fun.

Good job to the hotel and keep up the god work. Definetly look forward to go again and stay at the hotel it's a relaxing place.

Kunduchi is set facing the Indian Ocean and has beautiful white sands and a lovely outlook. However, the hotel is getting a bit tired and needs a good revamp. Fixtures and fittings just look a little worn and detract from the hotel. The meals were ok, but all buffet style, which i know is quite standard in hotels, but the selction wasn't great, having said that it was very quiet and so i guess they shouldn't put a massive spread on. The service was good and friendly, but the one lunch we had which was not buffet style, did take a long time in coming.

Room Tip: Ask to face the ocean and not the inlet,

We have just returned from a week at the Kunduchi and had a lovely time. The young staff were friendly and helpful, the manager even lending me his mobile phone on a couple of occasions so that I could contact a friend in Dar es Salaam.. The setting is superb with all the rooms facing the sea. The buffet breakfast was ample with a choice of cooked dishes or fresh fruit. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The service was somewhat slow but this is Africa.
We would recommend this hotel to our friends.

Room Tip: First floor rooms have a balcony facing the sea.

This week we returned from this hotel where our son had his wedding.
Fantastic setting, rooms all clean and the young staff all so helpful and full of fun. Meals could be a bit better and if you have kids, make sure a the kid is not alone in the pool, as a young local girl would have drowned if it wasn't for the help of two in our party. .

OK, this was the worst hotel I think have ever stayed in.
Firstly even though our rooms had been paid for, they insisted that they hadn't and charged us for the rooms. It then emerged that my cousin had paid, but they were unable to refund on our credit cards (or seemed unsure how do do this) so paid us in US dollars. Less useful for me as I was leaving tanzania within 2 days.
The service at the bar was slow - food taking up to an hour to arrive even if you had only ordered a plate of chips. When the food arrived it was nice. I was there for a wedding, and the food in the evening was ok, but the lamb was cold, and the beef was in the words of my mother 'inedible'.
The rooms were nice and clean, but our drinking water wasn't always replaced, the number of towels we had decreased day by day and the rooms weren't all made up til quite late in the day.
The safes were a bit incomprehensible, although the instructions were accurate.
The air con was very noisy and music was playing loudly until quite late in the evening.
The staff were useless - reception seemed incapable of sorting out the simplest problem, and in many cases didn't seem to care if there was problem.

Lastly the pool was nice, but they ran out of beach towels at about 9.30 am. I would also not let children go in the pool without close supervision. It was quite deep, and unfortunately there was an incident at the pool on our last day which proved that the pool staff have no training in dealing with emergencies. The don't claim to be lifeguards, but there seemed to be no proceedure for emergencies at all.
The management also didn't seem to care what had happened at all.

I would never stay here again, and I would be unable to recommended it to anyone.
This is in stark contrast to every other hotel I stayed in while in tanzania
