Faru Faru was our last stop on our trip to Tanzania. It was the nicest place we stayed, we wanted to start the trip roughing it in camps to begin with then ending with luxury. I enjoyed every aspect of the trip and each had it's advantages. As far as Faru Faru...WOW. When we arrived we had staff waiting for us with cold hand towels and beverages. We had an awesome lunch ready for us with a view of the watering hole where a family of elephants gathered to bathe and play. That was all in the first 15 minutes!
The service was top notch and the food was some of the best I had in Tanzania. Fabien our head waiter took care of so much behind the scenes to make our experience unforgettable. On our last full day we had brunch in the bush...amazing.
The grounds are positioned in a way to really experience the Serengeti, we had great safari's and great views from our room. The showers are outdoor showers (very private) and took a little getting used to but was something I now miss. There are tubs in the rooms for those who want a little more privacy.
Our massages were some of the best my wife and I had ever received, which was nice after so much travel.
The only problem we had was the hot water heater is mostly solar powered, so on overcast days be wary and take short showers to conserve. They will switch to electric but this is slower to heat the water. This is a small problem to have in such a remote resort.
That being said, the free calls to the USA and free strong wifi easily made up for any issues we had.
If you feel like being pampered in the bush, this is the place to stay.
