Camp Nyumbani = Wonderful. It was a terrific stay and although we are not glampers, what really made the stay was the staff. Wow, the people here are the nicest and friendliest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. They really made the stay incredibly enjoyable. And the food was just outstanding. How they managed to prepare such quality food in the middle of the Serengeti was just nothing short of a miracle. I was more than a little concerned about glamping but the thought of being here and staying at a hotel (hello Four Season's) was just a bit too much and I am so HAPPY that we ended up at Camp Nyumbani. Now, in the spirit of true honesty, you need to remember where you are. The tents were beautiful (a little light on the shower pressure but it is the Serengeti after all) and very secure so read on.
Hyenas singing in the night? Check. Crickets chirping, check? Male and female lion hanging around? Check. Fortunately, there was a Maasai warrior protecting everyone plus all of the staff who made sure that everyone was safe. To see these majestic animals just walking around was something that I will treasure for the rest of my life (we took the vehicle back to our tent and as we turned the corner to get to the tent, the headlights caught one of the lions out for a stroll). Is it unsettling, sure? But, the experience really triumphed any feelings of concern and to be there and to be that close was truly something special. Slept like a baby but I'm sure that I dreamed of lions. :) What a memorable way to spend our last night in the Serengeti.

A shout out to the manager of the camp, Goodlove, who was so friendly that within the first couple of minutes, we were all family. We were there for three days and if you want to have a truly memorable experience, stay ay Camp Nyumbani.

What a new gem in the Serengeti. A small tented camp, with simple but beautiful decor, amazing food and excellent service. The camp is set in a beautiful section of the Serengeti, known for its big pride of cats. The tents are comfortable with really nice beds and around the clock hot showers. The furniture and decoration across the camp is all locally made and the flooring in the bathrooms is made from recycled plastic. Looks great! The food is delish, we had breakfast under an acacia tree as a large elephant herd passed by in the distance. We loved our stay, would go back in a heartbeat.

We recently spent 2 night in our safari trip in the Serengeti National Park and were amazed by this newly opened camp. The neat, charming camp is located in the prime of the national park where we spot spectacular wildlife and landscape in our safari ride. The well-designed camp gave us the best comfort and serenity after a long day of adventure. I am amused by the details of the tent as they are done with good taste, quality and at the same time, respect to nature -the bathroom floor are made of recycled plastic and most of the furniture is locally sourced. Food was truly amazing. The best part is the staffs- they are professional, friendly, and genuine, making us feel at home literally at our entire stay.

We recently sent two nights at Nymbani, a brand new tented camp. Compared to the other tented camps (which were fine) Nyumbani was far and away the best. Food was extraordinary, the accommodation tents were beautifully appointed with African inspired furniture, there was a lovely bathroom and shower with lots of hot water. Seeing zebras and a hyena close to our tent and watching a herd of elephants not far way while we ate breakfast were highlights. Staff was very well trained, polite and attentive to our needs. You won't do better than Nyumbani Tented Camp.

Absolutely loved our stay here. The design is simple and beautiful, taking inspiration from the surrounding environment. The food was great, catering to the diets of the entire group. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with thoughtful details like handwritten welcome notes and little chocolates. The camp itself is bordered by a water source and rolling hills with no other camps in sight. In the morning you can find a variety of wildlife passing by camp on the way to get a drink- some members of our group enjoyed a morning tea as a herd of elephants walked by their tent! The best part is the staff. They knew everyone's name the minute we arrived and were so professional and nice our entire stay. We can't wait to return.

Room Tip: There's a honeymoon suite... I believe it was room number 8!
