Simply amazing. The reviews which rate this camp as 5 star have said it all. We visited for our honeymoon in August 2013, arriving following 4 days as their sister camp in the Masai Mara. The staff were so helpful, polite and did anything they could to help. The drives were perfectly timed and the expertise of the guides and spotters meant that we saw everything we wanted to and more! They were sensitive to the animals and their habitats but we still saw a kill, the great migration and the big 5 (across both camps).
The evening meals were delightful and one they know your tipple of choice, it will be waiting for you each evening!
The tents are perfectly designed and the turn down service is brilliant. We were treated like a king and queen with messages in coffee beans, a champagne reception and a private meal by the pool- would recommend to anyone but definitely honeymooners!
Truly an amazing place which we would urge people to visit. We only hope we are lucky enough to return one day.

Room Tip: They are all wonderful! We were in the farthest tent- Oribi- but felt perfectly safe!

Having experienced the Mara Bushtops Camp twice, we decided to stay at the Serengeti Bushtops for 2 nights in December 2013. We booked the Family Tent which comprised of 2 tents interconnected with a foot-bridge. The Tents were excellent in terms of size, furnishing and location with a dedicated butler who took care of all our needs, and provided a level of service which could outmatch the best hotels in the world.
The dining at the Serengeti Bushtops was amongst the best that we have experienced, with an extensive vegetarian and non-vegetarian menu with a daily Chef's special which was prepared with the freshest ingredients and matched with wine that could easily rival any fine-dining restaurant.
We took the ground-package which included the full-day game drive which came with a packed lunch to experience in the bush.
We were welcomed by our individual names by the Manager, Mr Pantaleo, whose level of personal service and attention to detail, places him in a different league.
The Serengeti Bushtops and its sister Mara Bushtops is the perfect combination for a luxury stay and I will rate both Camps as the best in Tanzania and Kenya..

Room Tip: The Family Room is ideal for groups.

We read all the reviews before booking for our honeymoon & couldn't believe everyone was 5 stars. Now I can see why!!!!

We only wish we had spent more time there, the location in the middle of the serengetti is an unforgettable experience.

From the minute we were greeted at the airstrip by two members of the Serengeti Bushtops team and offered drinks by the side of the runway to when they took us back - via a family of leopards - our stay at the bushtops was nothing short of a dream.

The friendliness and professionalism of every member of staff, knowledge and passion of the safari guides, the fantastic quality of every meal - each served in 5 star style, free massages, the outdoor hot tub in the bedroom surrounded by grazing zebras, evening drinks around a camp fire before dinner, and all the little touches - too numerous to list - that make this place so much more than a hotel/resort and far more a luxury experience set in one of the amazing places on earth.

Can't recommend the Serengeti Bushtops highly enough! It really is possibly the best hotel in the world.

Exceeded every expectation. Tents are nicer then most any 5 star hotel room. But what makes the place special beyond the obvious is the staff that wants to ensure your comfort and happiness and experience!

Having done my research through tripadvisor.com, I knew what to expect and what to bring and what to do. It was a perfect, but very short safari holiday for me and my kids. I chose Tanzania above Kenya because I read that Tanzania was a bit less touristy (less number of landcruisers roaming the Serengeti Plains).

I would not consider the accommodation at Serengeti Bushtops to be a tent. It was more like cottages that were built and covered in tent material. Each tent was super huge! And fitted with a hot tub, sunken seating area, and modern spacious bathroom. Morning wake up call included the delivery of coffee/tea and muffin to our tent by our butler. There was no air-conditioning but none needed. Nights and early mornings tended to be quite chilly. No heater was needed either as our beds were supplied with hot-water bottles put under the blankets. In the mornings as we stepped unto the landcruiser, we were given hot-water bottles and fleece blankets. Our comfort was definitely very important to them. My family was combined with another couple to go on 1 landcruiser during the safari. I don’t know what thinking went behind the decision on which people to combine with whom (there were quite a few new groups arriving at the same time with us), but I found it was workable and enjoyable. The groups tended to be small, and the landcruisers were completely open on the sides with seats going higher towards the back (theater-like seating) so we all had great view of all around us at all times. During the driving back to camp after safari, we were asked if we wanted massages (which were included in the rate) and if we wanted hot tub set up (it took about 45 minutes so it was nice to have it ready when we got to our tent). We were given refreshing towels, canapés and could order our cocktails too (included in the rate!). By the way, all laundry was also included so no need to travel heavy (couldn’t travel heavy anyway as the single-engine plane that flew you to the remote Serengeti Airport would limit to only 1-soft duffle bag per person). The beds were equipped with netting, but we had no problems with mosquitos anyway. There was a new pool, which I think was only put in about 3 months ago. We didn’t get the chance to use it though because the weather tended to be chilly in late afternoons when we came back from safari. One night when we walked back from the dinner tent with our guard (guests were not allowed to walk out by themselves after dark), we saw zebras by our tent. That was a pleasant surprise.

Timing-wise it was also perfect. We saw the big-5 (except for the rhinos), the ugly-5 (hyena, warthog, wildebeest, vulture, marabou stork), the playful lion cubs, and the cute baby African elephant. We caught the stunning, breathtaking migrations of the wildebeest and the zebras. One of the 2 migrations we saw was massive! Our driver and spotter were informative, nice and patient. We saw that our driver was well respected by drivers of the many other companies in the area running safaris. When the massive migration was building up on the side of the Maya River, our driver told all the drivers who were waiting on the other side of the river to drive away or otherwise the animals wouldn’t cross. Everyone complied. When the first few animals crossed, some of the convoys started to turn on their engine and made the move to get closer to the bank of the river. Even I was cursing under my breath “… not yet! Not yet!”. Within seconds our driver gestured to everyone to not move anymore forward. Amazingly, again everyone complied! At the end they all waited for our driver to make the move first after the migration was underway, so we ended up getting the best front view of the migration.

There were times when we had breakfast in the bush or lunch in the wild (with a dead wildebeest in the background, which made for a very interesting photo-op). We were served chilled white wine for lunch (the South African wine they carried was the best!). The much dreaded tsetse flies were actually quite bearable (learned not to wear dark colors).

Overall… Amazing experience, amazing accommodation, amazing service.

Bushtops was the absolute highlight of our honeymoon in Tanzania. Our excitement grew as we flew by small plane to a remote landing strip in the northern Serengeti and were welcomed with a bar table set-up next to our safari vehicle. On route to camp our guide for our stay found a huge number of animals to see and having found out our favourites promptly covered elephants and lions. On arrival the manager explained how the camp works and the plan for us for the next few days, let us choose our lunch and then our butler walked us to our tent. Tent is a massive understatement, with this being one of the most beautiful suites I have had the privilege to stay in. A huge bed and dressing area, 3 part bathroom including a shower open to the Serengeti, the largest sunken sofa I've ever seen, a dining table and outdoor hottub with views across the Serengeti and setting sun. After safaris we had the option for our houttub to be filled and the massage therapist to be on standby in our room as soon as we got back. The staff were amazing and extremely friendly and could not have done more for us to make our trip more perfect and the food was great with lots of choice at all meals. We genuinely couldn't have asked for more from Bushtops
