Asanja was our last tented camp on our 3 week trip. Its a fairly new camp but had all the great qualities of the more established camps we had stayed in. The tent was very comfortable, we were in the "Enkiama" which means marriage ceremony (or as we called it "The Honeymoon Suite"). We were given a great welcome when we arrived in the early afternoon by Jeremiah and his staff, serving us with cold fruit juice and cool cloths to refresh outselves. Several people had left the camp- that morning and we learned that for the next two nights we would be there we would be their only clients! We certainly received the "Royal" treatment!! Our first dinner was in the Gazebo with candlelight, very romantic, the next dinner was under the big tree complete with lanterns in the tree and lanterns along the pathway leading to the tree. We were treated to a "bush breakfast" on our last morning. The food here was outstanding, the staff very friendly and always wanting to please us. The campfires were great, this was one of our favourite times of the day! The sunsets and moon rises at night were fabulous to watch and easily seen at this camp. The drive from the Seronara air strip to the camp gave us a great display of wildlife including the hippos in the pond and leopards sleeping in the trees. We ventured onto the Serengeti for a full day gamedrive on our second day there. Don"t shy away from this camp just because its new, it has the full expertise of any established ones we visited!
