Staying in the heat of July in Ramadan, is perhaps not the best of ideas but Dar Traki was exactly what we were looking for http://dartraki.com/index.html .
Authentic, traditional and tastefully decorated.
Its in the Medina and yes hard to find but that's part of the fun! Do print a map before you go and take their instructions on arriving via Rue du Riche, its in a beautiful lane beside a tiny Mosque.
The breakfast was a great start to the day, and the rooms and whole Riad very clean.
We booked via Airbnb, be careful with this though the price is cheaper than listed, I think I would email them the next time direct, as Airbnb exchange rate is extortionate plus the booking fee.
We would definitely return and sample some of the restaurants we had hope to dine in that were closed.More
