We last visited Zimbabwe in 2012 and stayed at Lories B&B in Vic. Falls ( see previous review) We engaged the Zambezi Safari Co to take us into Hwange Nat. Park for a 4 night camping stay., We were accompanied by our Safari Guide "Spike" who was full of information about the area where we visiting . together with a National park guide ,both of them were armed for protection ! . a cook and driver . the camp was very basic ,(as we wanted it) with one room tents and a attached enclosed shower and toilet area , canvas walls only ,no roof! with a bush shower that was filled with water heated on the open fire by the camp staff each night, a long drop toilet that the ladies had to check before using it at night ! We were taken on walking trip each day , saw lots of elephants ,antelope ,Hippos , Crocs monkeys Lions. and many bird species .All up close and with plenty of time to observe them. As we were on a limited budget this type of Safari suited us perfectly, and we throughly enjoyed the whole experience .The entrance fees to the National Park .were a bit more than we expected and found one of the group short so take that bit extra for the known unknowns!
