Mukuvisi is a terrific area so close to central Harare that anyone visiting can spend an hour, up to half a day and feel thay have been in the bush. We have visited often and enjoyed a short visit but best of all the horseback safaris. Dont visit Harare without visiting, just tell the taxi driver "Mukuvisi"

Great place to take toddlers for a bit of fresh air and a change of scene. Nominal entrance fee, can easily see impala, giraffe, warthog, tortoises, plenty of (captive) indigenous and exotic birds. Walking and horseback safaris available for older kids. Lots of interesting flora, insect and bird life.

Nice little café, also gift shop selling typical Zimbabwean crafts and an indigenous plant nursery.

Generally very nice, but a little run down and I wonder about the conditions that the crocodiles are housed in.

Amazing area of woodlands, right in town.

We have done this outing a number of times. There is a 3,5&8 km walk through the wilderness area. Often good birding in the early morning. Really pretty walks through the miombo woodland. Great place for a bit of exersise and fresh air. A must.

For only $12 we got a horseback-safari that lasted for two hours! The horses seemed well-trained, since I could ride a horse without any experience. We saw some animals, but a large part of the ride was only in the woods where we could not see any animals at all. Good place to go if you don't have any time to go on a real safari. There is also a walking safari (might be preferable).
