“Authentic food but something was missing”
Reviewed 20 May 2014

My first meal in Victoria Falls, and I was expecting more - and for less. It seemed a bit over priced for what we were eating (authentic Zimbabwean food - in Zimbabwe) and our booking wasn't correct when our group arrived. The staff were friendly and eager to please, and the meal was tasty. Just left a little non-plus-ed after the experience. Nice enough, but not rushing to go back there again.

“Great service but food a bit bland”
Reviewed 20 May 2014 via mobile

Love the setting, this is a great little restaurant just off the main street. We went for dinner and Far provided really good service, but the hot pot and fish were missing a bit of taste which was a shame. A herb or two would make all the difference.

“A taste of africa, accompanied by music from John Denver”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

If you're coming here to taste what people in Africa might eat at home, i imagine this might be it. I don't know for sure, because i'm not from Africa, but the food seems like it might be traditional food. If you're coming for spectacular, knock your socks off food, this is not the place for you. The food was decent, we all had the hot pots, the beef and the dried beef with peanut sauce. Like i said, it was decent, for $15. The beer, however, was highly drinkable, and VERY cold, which i think helped. The homemade amarula ice cream was good as well. What saved this place was #1, the ice cold beer. And #2, the awesome little band they had which played a combination of old American music (i.e., "Rocky Mountain High", by John Denver) and jazz standards. And by awesome, i mean bad karaoke bar awesome, like you are singing right along with them, cause they don't really know the words. It really made the whole night. My dad wanted me to give this place one star, but i had to give it three for the cold beer, Mama, who was our waitress, and was lovely, and the rockin band.

“Overpriced, but good food”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

As with much else in Vic Falls, this restaurant is overpriced. I had difficulty communicating my questions about the food (I have allergies to preservatives) until the cook came out. We ordered a meat stew and the special, croc tails, and both were very good; especially good were the greens served along with our meals.
