The camp is hidden in a land of contrasts, characterised by its elevation over the plains with a view of the smoke of the Falls in the distance and the spectacular gorges. The view and location was only the beginning of our pleasant surprises: we were greeted by a very friendly welcome by Jonathan the Manager, Moses, Hilda, Prosper and other members of the staff. We were shown around the elegant lounges and terraces, state of the art facilities, then accompanied to our accommodation: from the outside it looked like a tent but it was pure opulence . The elegant and spacious suite featured elegant inspired décor with all facilities including air conditioning, comfortable sitting room with wide glass window and doors with private viewing, looking onto the magical Victoria Falls gorges. Private deck and covered deck are nicely furnished with table chairs and loungers by the private plunge pool. The bathroom with both indoor and open air shower, has an exotic tub with a view over the valley below.
The visit to the elephants and Sylvester the Cheetah complemented our stay.
Reasons we picked the Elephant Camp:
- Intimate, close to the Falls but not “commercial”
- Facilities and amenities
- High Level of comfort and services
We found personnel to be extremely friendly, helpful and efficient .
Food was nice and well presented .
Our expectations were exceeded. We just loved the charm and ambience.
Would definitely return and recommend it.

Room Tip: all accommodation have a veiw of the falls except # 9 and 10.

I am one of those people for whom complaining comes quite naturally. My wife even bought me a T shirt a few years back that proclaims me to be an Official Member of the Piss and Moan about Absolutely Everything Club. The reason for this background is that, despite my best efforts, I could not fault The Elephant Camp. Jonathan, Bernie and Moses have created a very special oasis that delivers an extremely high level of service. The service is attentive, without being overbearing, the food is sublime and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. As the guests, we were made to feel as though we were the very centre of the universe. Given the challenges of running such an operation in Zimbabwe, it is a sad indictment on other luxury destinations around the world cannot match The Elephant Camp. The walk with Sylvester is an absolute must-do.

Elephant Camp has character! No request was unmet. Baboons stole one hiking boot from me and another from my husband while the boots were drying on the patio from the Falls. The staff found them 120 meters into the bush (fully intact)! Dining under the stars with delicious fresh food was amazing. The night escorts to and from the tents provided safety from buffalos too. Recommend the Sundowner cruise on the Zambeze as well.

that I'll remember for the rest of my life! I'll start by saying we did not stay here overnight. We were here for a day to interact with the elephants & just spend the day.

What a day it was! So much more than I could ever dream of! What they have managed to create for humans to experience & yet have the elephants stay 'wild' is very admirable.

If one thinks coming to the Elephant Camp & focusing on the perceived shortcomings like the food, one has totally missed what coming here is for. Elephants having free rein through the area where people are staying could be a disaster. Thank God the owners know what they are doing.

I have been fortunate enough to stay in many tented camps around Africa, this visit is top of my list and an experience I will never forget. From the warm welcome of Jono when you arrive, til you bid farewell to him and his team, that attend to you ever request, always with pleasure.
The tents are superb, food outstanding, true African hospitality. The experiences you can have with the elephants, cheetah, walking tours, will exceed any game park around.
Thank you all for an amazing visit and all the best for the future!
