What a wonderful stay! My family and I spent the Easter holidays at this amazing hotel.
The rooms are spacious and have large balconies that look out on the golf course / pool. The grounds of the hotel are spectacular and well maintained. There are lots of animals to watch from your balcony. We saw wart hogs (or hotdogs as my nephew calls them), buck, mongoose, monkeys and baboons - the monkeys are a bit naughty and try to come into your room to steal fruit and food.
While sitting at the clud house having a drink we saw a leopard cross the course!
The food is really good - there is a lot of variety and the breakfasts are wonderful - hot and cold choices. The dinners are ok and there are snacks at the pool.
The staff are welcoming and friendly. They are always willing to help. Smiley, fast and just lovely
In terms of activities there are plenty to choose from - over the holidays they had activities for the kids - movies, lunch, visits to the croc farm all with caregivers.
You can also hire a caregiver at the hotel for a small fee. These ladies are amazing! We had 3 kids 5,4,2 and a baby 7 months. My sister and i were so glad to have them with us. We did Vic fall trip, booze cruise, boma restaurant - amazing!!! Go there hungry! And the angel falls.
My parents stayed in a suite - this was amazing! Its on the top floors, it has a massive room with lounge area, TV, 2 balconies and a luxury bathroom.
I would stay here again and again and again!

Room Tip: Go for a suite - well worth the costs!

This is a really impressive facility, space wise. The rooms are spacious and clean. Hot and cold water excellent. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I would say that the food service needs some attention as most of it is just above simple kitchen cooking. Good enough but lacks finishing touches in terms of selection. Drinks are fairly expensive but for the price could be at least cold. In the conference room an ancient projector is not up to the job - lacks HDMI, for example. A very comfortable place though, their biggest asset being the staff who do an very good job of being welcoming and cheerful.

Room Tip: River facing rooms are best

I will give you the summary first:
I would definitely stay here again. The hotel is expensive so the best way to stay here is to book it as part of a package travel deal. The food is expensive but good. The staff is amazing. There is a free shuttle in to town and the falls. The rooms are aging a little.

We booked a package deal which included flights from Johannesburg to Victora Falls, Zimbabwe, included this hotel, transportation, and a sunset cruise. This was by far cheaper than just booking the hotel solo. The views from varioius parts of the hotel are stunning. From the restaurant area alone you can see the Zambezi, Livingstone in Zambia, and the smoke that thunders (the smoke from the falls). In addition to the distant views, the grounds were in immaculate condition. We saw countless Impala, many monkeys, some Baboons, and even warthogs all in front of our window. My parents had a broken AC unit, they were immediately moved to another room which had one working. The rooms in general are aging a little, the patio doors are starting to fall apart, tile looks a little stale in the bathrooms, same with the tub. But quite honestly I don't know if I would change anything, I loved the character of the hotel, the rooms were suiting.
Be warned of the monkeys, they will sneak into your rooms, or if they notice you have food outside they will work together to steal it or try to intimidate you... quite fun and a little scary at times. (don't feed them... no matter how cute and fun, they will target you haha).
During the day we didn't experience any mosquitoes, however at night they were atrocious... but we packed it in early most nights so this wasn't a problem... So no enjoying sitting by the pool at night, or having a nice glass of wine on your patio, but this would be a problem anywhere in this area I would assume, not just this hotel.
We enjoyed my wifes birthday while we were there. The restaurant arranged on VERY short notice to have a bunch of locals singers come and sing for my wife. This was absolutely amazing. In addition the food was always very very good. Since I am normally a fairly frugal person I did find it to be rather expensive to eat there though. A cheaper dish at for a sit down meal is probably going to cost you minimum $25 each if you want to leave with your hunger satisfied, not many cheap options. Service was at times slow, but pleasant. You could also get your own, unlimited, specialty coffee's and hot chocolates out of a machine for free with your meals, this was kinda neat.
The free shuttle to town and the falls was easy to use and catch back. This is a good perk as this is not a walkable distance for the average joe.
Water pressure for showers was excellent, almost to forceful for us. Parent's had opposite experience, so this might be dependent on room or time of day. Always had hot water.
Tip: Make sure when you book you negotiate breakfast to be included. Breakfast was really good.
Overall, I would come back here again.

Room Tip: All room views should be good. You may want a room higher up for better views, or lower down so you...

The rooms are not recently furnished but they are comfortable and the hotel has a very lovely traditional decoration with the very beautiful nature of Victoria Falls. The food is quite good and the management and all personnel are very polite and friendly. The hotel is in a position that you can relax without any disturbance by noice or any other stressing factors. The shuttle buses make going downtown easy. It is about 10 - 15 min away by car from the fabulous Victoria Falls. By the way, besides visiting the falls, I strongly recommend everybody to join the tram trip to famous bridge next to the falls, at which you may try bungee jumping and also sunset tour on Zambezi river during which you can catch hypos, crocodiles, fish eagles and even elephants if you are lucky enough ... May is one of the best times for the falls as the water level in Zambezi is quite high. One practical note; although the whether is quite good, do not forget to take any type of head and body covers with you during your visit to the falls; otherwise, you will get completely wet during walk along the falls :)))

Room Tip: You should be very careful not to keep the slide balcony doors open as the baboons can easily enter...

I was on my first trip to Zimbabwe and slightly anxious about what to expect in terms of accommodations and facilities. The resort was fantastic! It was both comfortable and modern while retaining a very local feeling that you were really in Africa. The resort sits on a national park and while I thought that I might see a little wildlife if I was lucky, within an hour a baboon was climbing past my balcony! (Lots of signs reminding you to keep doors shut during the day). The general manager suggested a jog on the golf course just before dusk and it was like a running safari: warthogs, monkeys, baboons, kudu, springbok and eland all accompanied the 5k run. The staff was always helpful and friendly and the bed was very comfortable. My room had a view North and the sunrise over Zambia with the mist of the falls in the foreground was magical. Lots of renovations to the exterior and the rooms are well kept but a bit dated. The meals were great (any place that serves grits at every meal is good in my book!) and the traditional Zimbabwe dinner by the pool was really special. One drawback was internet/cell connection-- not sure that was something that the hotel can influence as the cell connection was not good anywhere and there may be network infrastructure issues. I can't wait to come back with the family!

Room Tip: Choose Golf wing North facing.

Dear John H

Thank you so much for the review you shared, we truly appreciate taking your time to give us some valuable feedback. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed you run round our golf course with a good wild life experience.

We are currently working on the exterior of the hotel, as well as upgrading the standard of the rooms ensuring that the general interior is modern yet retaining that African charm.

We acknowledge the challenges you faced with our Wi-Fi connectivity, we have taken this up with our network service provider who has assured us of an upgrade and additional bandwidth which we hope will address this particular challenge.

We look forward to hosting you again in future.

The hotel is not the greatest, but it does the job, so to speak. In terms of the feel of the hotel, it is a bit dated, the bedding in the rooms felt a bit old. I do like the look though, in terms of the actual building itself.

The location is great, and depending on your room, you can have a view of the smoke from the falls.

The staff was really great, friendly and helpful. They also had internet access via a password which was adeqaute for us.

The food was great at their restaurant.

All in all, I would stay here again, it's not bad, although not great.
