The spectacular lodge is located just north of Victoria Falls in a natural hill setting overlooking a water hole. As you have breakfast, sit at the bar, or have dinner you will observe the animals as they come to drink. At noon the “vulture restaurant” opens as to-be-discarded food is fed to a multitude of wild birds right below the lodge. The rooms open up with a little balcony to the wide space of the bushveld. A mosquito net hangs over your bed . A TV set is thankfully absent. The restaurant is not only beautiful, but serves a wide variety of local game in memorable presentations. Above all, the staff is always friendly and helpful.

We've just spent the most amazing week at the Vic Falls Safari Lodge. You are thoroughly spoilt from breakfast (the spread could feed a man for a day) overlooking the watering hole, through the heat of the day (spent lounging by the pool, keeping an eye on wildlife while enjoying the sounds of nature all around) to the cool of the sunset and into the evening (watching elephants, buffalo and warthog to name a few drinking at the watering hole while we sipped our cocktails). The staff were thorough and considerate and made us feel totally at home. The rooms were exquisite; clean, well equipped (insect repellent inclusive) and also shared the amazing view over the watering hole. The food was delicious and plentiful. The hotel helped us choose some excellent activities and also helped us rearrange our flights so we could stay on longer! There is a free shuttle bus to town hourly which allowed us to explore other hotels but our only conclusion was that we'd made the right decision in choosing the Safari Lodge. Oh, and did I mention the watering hole?! :) We saw just as much wildlife sat on the terrace as on an average game drive!

First impression of the hotel was really good, greeted on arrival and then shown to my room. The rooms are reasonable size, mosquito nets over the beds, all have balconies overlooking a watering hole, a fantastic view. Only thing missing was a TV in the room, but the I guess you don't go holiday to watch TV.
At check in I was told that there would be vulture feeding at 1 pm, I presumed they probably had a pet vulture but by about 1230 the sky was full of hundreds of vultures, an amazing sight.
The hotel operates a free shuttle bus into town and to the falls every hour so no need to waste money on taxis.
Food and drink at the hotel were very reasonable and excellent quality, again the restaurant overlooks the watering hole so you can animal spot whilst waiting for your food to arrive.
Overall, a fantastic place to stay, I would highly recommend it and hope to return soon.

Room was bright, clean and spacious. The location was very special located by a wild life watering hole that could be viewed from some guest rooms and from the restaurant and bar. The breakfast buffet was ample and a good variety of items. Lunch menu and food was OK. Shuttle to downtown Victoria Falls and BOMA was excellent. I booked my Victoria Falls Tour and Flight of Angels through the hotel. That was efficient. Greeting upon arrival was welcoming and welcoming staff remembered my name during my stay. Front reception person did not give off warm vibes when asking for daily WiFi password. All others were great. A highlight is the daily feeding of the vultures - not to be missed.

Room Tip: As for a room with view of the watering hole.

The lodge is in the middle of a nature wonderland. The rooms are facing either the bush area or the large waterhole at the back of the property. Late afternoon various elephants and buffalo,to name a few come to drink. From morning to night there are a variety of birds and animals to observe. Sunsets are spectacular! Last evening we heard chomping noises below our room, approximately twenty warthogs were eating their weight in grasses. It was an incredible experience and made us laugh. The rooms are comfortable with evening service to ill mosquito netting around the bed and freshen up bathroom. The restaurant and bar are multi levels open to the outside. Views are amazing as far as the eye can see. The staff are great and kitchen very accommodating to changes you would like to the menu. Every afternoon at 1 pm is the daily feeding of the vultures. Left over scraps from the kitchen are saved and used to feed them ,it is an unforgettable sight. If you want peacefulness away from the town, this is the place to come. If you want to be woken up my different bird songs this is the best. Frequent shuttles into town are available.

Room Tip: The rooms are all more or less the same, some facing watering hole others the vegetation side.the ro...

Victoria falls Lodge was built facing a water hole where the wildlife come to drink at all hours of the day. It is a good way to observe the animals while in their element without having to disturb them. All the rooms have verandas facing this water hole so you can view the animals from your room. Pure genius! Each room is appointed with a canopied bed designed to keep mosquitoes away and they were plentiful. They also provided a plug-in mosquito repellent device, bug spray and even mosquito cream along with sun screen with your toiletries. There's a restaurant in the premises. Food was eh to ok and service was slow. I was also disappointed with the buffet breakfast, maybe because it was not as lavish as the other breakfasts in other hotels I had been in in Johannesburg but the view to the waterhole more than made up for it. The restaurant is probably the best area in the hotel to view the water hole. It's a bit of a ways to town but that's only because the widespread grounds that surround the hotel . One of the most unforgettable experiences I had in this hotel was their vulture feeding. Staff would go down the restaurant bringing with him leftovers from yesterday's dinner and invite guests to come down with him to witness more up close how the vultures grabbed at the food. All in all I was very pleased with my stay.
