To top off our Namibian trip we flew to Vitoria Falls and stayed at the Vic-falls Safari Lodge. Upon arrival at the airport we were greeted by a band of barely dressed siniging locals, posing as savages. When we arrived at the hotel, we were welcomed by yet another local in a dress with feathers on his head. At dinner, another choir appeared, singing traditional African songs like "Swing low, sweet chariot".

The hotel is superb. Quite nice rooms, very good service from friendly staff and excellent restaurants. It is so perfect that it does not feel like Africa but more like a Disneylanf hotel.
Every mornig and evening the same animals appear by the waterhole and every afternoon the vultures are fed. All of this can be viewed for a safe distance on the terrace while drinking a nice cocktail. In short, I did not feel like being in Africa.

So this extremely nice hotel has 2 major setbacks. It feels like Disneyland and it certainly does not come cheap. Value has a high price here.

Furthermore, when traveling with teenage daughters one does not really have time to enjoy the hotel to all it's extent. For those thrill seekers there are many things to do in Vic-falls like bungee jumping, abseiling or Zip-line, gorge swing and wild water rafting.

Needless to say, the adrenalin went soaring while daddy went broke.

Our room was very nice. The view of the waterhole from the hotel was an added feature as there was a wide variety of wildlife. The atmosphere was very pleasant. The food at the restaurant was quite good. Everyone was extremely friendly and overall after almost a month in Africa it was our best hotel experience. Example of the attitude there: my wife came back from shopping in town with some clearly breakable items. As she walked in one of the men working the front entrance immediately stepped forward and offered to wrap her items in bubble wrap for her. That shows both good people and good management. Good shuttle services as well. You can't go wrong with this hotel

Room Tip: Get a good view of the watering hole

A good hotel that runs a bus to the town and the falls on the hour, every hour of the day. Nice rooms , good staff, other than the falls and the bridge there is not much to do there though. I suggest a one or two night stay.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post your review on your stay in Victoria Falls. We understand that not all activities in the resort town are for everyone, however we are glad that you managed to see the main attraction being the Victoria Falls Rain Forest

We do hope you will visit again some day - and stay longer !

This place was magnificent! Clean rooms, great restaurant and bar, excellent staff and the animals and view of the waterhole was amazing! Could not recommend this high enough. We also had a 17, 8 and 9 year old who said they would live there. We had an elephant and her calf in patting distance and could see alligators, buffalo, vultures, impala and much more from the decked area. Mosquitos were not bad and breakfast was amazing and cooked in front of you. Nothing was a problem for the staff and we attended the Boma experience was well worth the money.
