I spent two nights at A' Zambezi River Lodge. The service we received was indeed superb and excellent. I had unforgetable lifetime experiences during our stay. the pleasant view of the Zambezi River was refreshing and the general atmosphere made us feel relaxed and we enjoyed every moment we had. thanks to your staff members who are cheerful and welcoming. If time and money permits I hope in future I will visit the lodge again, or recommend friends to pay a visit. I would however urge managemnt to consider preparing traditional dishes. As for Breaksfast , I suggest you make it more appetising by widening the range of foods to choose from.

Room Tip: First floor rooms gives a better view of Zambezi River

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Azambezi River Lodge and were hugely impressed. We've stayed in few hotels and resorts, in various parts of the world, and for us this was world class. The rooms were of a high standard, food was excellent, they have free wifi internet (a bit erratic but this is Zimbabwe after all) and of course unbeatable surroundings. One night there was a hippo grazing on the lawn right outside our room, money can't buy that sort of thing. The staff were all so helpful and willing to go out of their way, from the cleaning crew, restaurant and bar staff, right up to management, all were friendly, chatty and helpful.

The activities desk offers a wide variety of stuff to do, more than time permitted us. Highly recommended is a sunset cruise, which was probably one of the highlights of the trip, we went on a smaller boat, the "waiter" was really low key but kept our beers coming and the snacks were fantastic. Also recommended is the steam train trip to the Vic Falls bridge, a little crowded when we went but nevertheless well worth it. Champagne on the bridge, watching the sun go down over the African bush is an experience not to be missed.

We also did a helicopter flip which was something that I would recommend to anybody.

It's a very nice lodge built in African style just on the Zambesi river. It's located at 6 km from Victoria Falls but you can easily get there with free shuttle serving all hotels and lodges. The position it's excellent and very silently. A place where you can enjoy the stay and relax. Rooms are not very large, this is the unique negative comment.

Had a pleasant stay at the A'zambezi the rooms were modern and furnished well, we had the ground unit which had direct access to the grounds which was nice. Really enjoyed watching the sun setting overlooking the Zambezi river. My only problem with the lodge was that they do not really cater for vegetable or seafood meals. Breakfast was a huge dissapointment if you veg. We had evening meals at illala and victoria falls safari lodge which I highly recommend even if you not veg. Did the high tea at Victoria falls hotel which we really enjoyed. Booked through global one travel who also booked all our tours with Sherwaters which was 10percent less then if you had to go there and book and I also recommend using Shearwaters and booking your tours through an agency before you arrive as things in zim are exp. We booked the sunset cruise, walk with lion, elephant encounter and guided falls tour. The guide of falls I felt was a waste, you def don't need a guide to see the falls! overall a very pleasant stay and the falls didn't dissapoint.

A totally wonderful hotel - I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone who was going to Victoria Falls.
Staff could not have been more helpful, food was amazing and the views over the river stunning.
We stayed for 4 nights, left for 1 week on safari and then came back for 3 more nights (staff remembered us on our return, not many in the UK would.....). Our safari was late in picking us up and the consiergee was more than willing to ring the company for us - in fact he insisted!! I could honestly not fault the staff at A'Zambezi who are totally amazing.
Didn't find staying outside the town a problem as the bus went into the town and back again 4 times a day - which was more than enough to do what you wanted to and catch one on the buses back again.
Loved coming in a night to find the beds turned down, nets round the beds and bedsides lights on - what service!
Would defintely return!

Room Tip: Go for a river view room.
