We stayed at the Stanley and Livingstone for three days during April and enjoyed every minute. The staff are extremely attentive and nothing too much trouble. Pressure the mini bus Driver was just lovely, so helpful and knowledgeable about the wild life. The Bungalow suite we stayed in was first class. And we would like to thank the Restaurant staff for the very special evening they gave us on our wedding Anniversary. Definitely above all our expectations. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so special.

We were lucky enough to be upgraded to the Stanley and Livingstone as the sister camp, Old Ursula was being refurbished. The customer support from the Rani team was quite excellent. Everything about the place was perfect and just how you would imagine a luxury African lodge to be. The setting was fantastic with the lodges and main buildings all overlooking the bush and water hole.
We could not fault the service with friendly attentive staff but not over bearing.
The rooms were very large with fantastic bathrooms.
The only issue for some people might be the distance from the town and falls but the hotel offer an efficient transfer so no real issues.
If I ever got the chance again I would certainly stay there again.

This is the perfect place to escape all the hustle and bustle of modern day living. It's so peaceful and quiet. The setting is stunning - it really is 'Out of Africa". The individual cottages, are beautifully decorated, the bathrooms roomy and it's just perfect. The staff are very accommodating and do really try to make your stay one to remember. We wish we had stayed for an extra night 3rd night instead of two, as we were so busy with our early game drive starts and walking with the lions, that a morning to be lazy and a relax by the pool would have been perfect. We would go back again, and if you want to stay somewhere for a special anniversary, a quiet, peaceful resort then this is the place. Heavenly! I have read previous comments about the food. Having done a safari in Nambia, and stayed in similar types of accommodation, you have to remember that this is Africa, and not South Africa, and often the ingredients we take for granted in 5* accommodation in Europe are just not available or very hard to come by, and the chefs improvise and just do the best they can.

Room Tip: Avoid smoking floors/lift and rooms looking on to roads or above restaurants.

The property itself is amazing with wonderful all suite accommodation and lovely grounds with a great pool.
We had a great welcome from Moline who was very helpful throughout our stay. The staff were also very pleasant but the thing that let it down was the food which did not live up to the lodge's five star feel. We tried it on the first night with a view to eating there on the last night as a special meal for my wife's 50th birthday. The meal was very ordinary and for subsequent nights we decided to eat in Victoria Falls town. We had stayed at Ilala Lodge just before our stay and the food was much better although the lodge itself was not as high a standard as Stanley and Livingstone. Also the food at the Victoria Falls Hotel was excellent.
When we returned in the evening to Stanley and Livingstone we were made to feel quite uncomfortable when we said we weren't eating at the lodge -almost like naughty children.
A new management company has taken over recently and they had a few people staying to find out,we were told by one of their staff, why bookings were poor.
Because this lodge is ten to fifteen minutes drive from the town then it would make sense to eat there but the food has to reach the standards in town which are much higher.
A great shame as the lodge itself is wonderful. A small additional point is that on booking, Rani Resorts, the management company, said they'd pass on the message to the lodge itself that it was my wife's 50th (maybe a bottle of wine or similar in the room which most hotels would arrange?) Sadly, nothing happened which would indicate they are not really on the ball.

We stayed at this unique hotel during our visit to Victoria Falls. It was fabulous! The cottages were beautifully appointed, the service was excellent and staying in the bush was extraordinary. We sat on the terrace overlooking the watering hole and watched Cape Buffalo lounging right in front of us. The receptionist, Moline, was extremely helpful with so many things. They offer wifi and I had trouble staying connected with my IPad. She repeatedly came to my cottage and fixed my problems, always with a smile and determination to make it right. She was also very helpful with recommendations of activities in the area. We loved our experiences there and highly recommend this hotel. It was memorable in every way.

We have been there in january, in a group of 18 loud and happy brazilian people. The rooms were huge, well decorated, with a fancy bathroom and a small living room. It was always very clean aand tidy.
The restaurant was great, we loved the food. Felix, the waiter in charge of the restaurant, took all our orders perfectly and had a great patient with our big group, we had 10 kids!
I have to talk about Moline, the Guest Services manager.. She was like a mother for us all!! All our wishes came true in her hand, she took very good care of us, our tours, our schedules and all our questions! It was the best hotel service I had in Africa, thank you Moline, Felix, and all staff!

Our two day stay was very relaxing and very quite as we were the only couple there. Twenty eight people left the day we arrived and twenty six were arriving on the day we left. The main advantage of this "hotel" is that you don't have to leave the grounds to see any game. You could spend your time watching the animals come down to the waterhole which is overlooked by the main building or even watch them from the veranda of your room. The service and the food was very good, which it should have been as it is not a cheap place to stay. The only thing that let the place down was the rather "run down" bathroom, which had wood-rot in the door frame, a crack in the toilet bowl, mold in the shower, the basin tap was loose and stains on the bench top. The shower head was also in need of replacement. These things we might have overlooked in a cheaper hotel but at US$600 a night, we expected better.

Room Tip: The closer your room is to the main building, the closer you are to the waterhole.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review on TripAdvisor, following your visit to The Stanley and Livingstone at Victoria Falls. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay overall and would like to assure you that we are working on the room maintenance issues.

What we find concerning about your feedback is the rate you paid, as our Rack Rates are US$ 245.00 per person per night sharing (Bed and Breakfast). We would like to understand how you came to pay US$ 600-00 per night so that we may rectify this discrepancy.

Kindest Regards
