Honestly. I can't believe that such a pathetic hotel exists right oppositte the road to the Epic Sana which I must say is great given that all this is in Luanda.

I can excuse the hotel beceause I guess its old and this is after all Angola. But the staff is completley lost. The cleaning/housekeeping crew smelt so bad that I could not stay in my room after they had made the beds and cleaned the bathroom. Service is non-existant.

Food is also awful. Best part is the breakfast where one can have boiled eggs, and imported cheeses so not much can go wrong. Other than that everything is bad.

All that said, the rooms were clean and the wifi internet did work allowing me to continue my work and remain distracted by my depressing and dismal room furnishings.

Room Tip: Tip to choose a good room is to stay at the Epic Sana

I've stayed here a few times while working or transiting. By Luanda standards the hotel is good. Rooms are adequate, plenty of hot water for showers, etc. No problem with the cleanliness of the place, the staff work hard to keep it decent.
Food is hit or miss. There is a fixed price buffet in the restaurant which is mainly the same stuff every night with one or two different choices. Not particularly good quality but edible nonetheless.
You can get a few snacks in the bar on the ground floor and these tend to be better in my opinion.
Good selection of drinks, as long as you are willing to pay the prices.
I had one issue on checkout when I wanted to pay my bill in dollars and they converted it into Kwanza's incorrectly (unbeknown to me I might add). I paid what they asked but obviously it didn't add up so a Supervisor was called. After about 30 minutes and with me starting to get irritated by the delay I discovered that they required one dollar more! Silly to keep guests hanging around for that length of time for such a paltry sum.

Room Tip: get a room on a high floor to get away from the traffic noise.

Stayed here for 3 nights in April 2013 while on business in Luanda. The city itself is somewhat chaotic, specially traffic, but I guess understandable for a place trying to recover from a long war. The hotel itself I found to be comfortable and the staff was friendly and efficient. I had few small issues in the room, such as missing network cable, and these were sorted out straight away, I mean like immediately. So it seems the staff really puts in an effort to provide.
The food was quite good and variety was good. Be prepared for prices of the drinks tho - it is not cheap for foreigners to come here.

Stayed at Skyna for 4 nights in April. Rooms were very clean, although with twin beds they were a bit cramped (against typical American standards). Bathroom was small as well, but adequate. The shower had a built-in timer, meaning, that after about 5-6 minutes the water would fill up the base to the point it would start to overflow into the bathroom, requiring the shower to be shut off. Still, minor inconveniences.

Restaurant was nice, good selection on the buffet for both breakfast and dinner. Extremely expensive, and many of the entrees were way overcooked, including the peel and eat shrimp (nightly on salad bar). I would rather have my food overcooked though, than undercooked and dangerous - so again, manage the expectations. Service was top notch..

Not close to value for money, the service is average, the food is average, the facilities are average, the Internet is slow and the price is high even for Luanda when compared to the overall quality of the package.

I recently spent four nights in Luanda and choose the hotel by his position. Indeed Skyna hotel is in a good place if you are in the city for business as it is in the city centre but I have been not impressed at all by its quality and the bad service of the receptionists. Internet has not been working properly for the whole duration of my stay. The breakfast was awful for its choice and quality.
Price of the room was expensive (more than 4000 US dollars per night) but this is in line with other othels in Luanda.
Anyhow this was my first and last visit to this hotel.
