“This is THE Place to Hang and Relax”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 October 2013

Lived in Luanda for a number of years and go back a few times during the year. Miami Beach has always been the place to kick back. It has a very relaxing, hip atmosphere to it and sits directly on the beach. It is one of the places on the beach that seems to make you feel as if you have full freedom to also bring a swim suit and just jump in and out of the water. Some of the places on the Ilha even though they are on the beach, they feel somewhat like they are removed and not accessible.

The restaurant serves very good food, seafood, steaks, burgers, etc. Pricing is excellent and affordable. They also have live bands play and on weekends they used to do a Samba dance routing with a live band and beautiful dancers, not sure if they still do that. But, when I was there in July, they had a great vocal group sing and playing some beautiful music.

If you go to Luanda, try to get down to Miami Beach one night, it stays open late and is a fun time.

“New Favourite Lunch Time Haunt”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2013

Went here for lunch and was happily surprised. While its not one of the shiny new places to eat in Luanda, I found it still very pleasant. Pretty much every seat has a view of the ocean and while the service wasn't great, it wasn't terrible either. Something you quickly learn to appreciate here! I was with a group of friends and had the tuna salad. It was very much like a Niçoise and at just under US$12 I felt it was actually pretty good value for Luanda. They had several salads to choose from, toasted sandwiches, steak sandwiches etc. Everyone was happy with their choices and apparently the chips are very good too. I would definitely go back.

“Nice location, decent food and atmosphere”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 March 2013

On the beach close to the end of the strip of land off Luanda city, still called "Ilha" even though not an island any more.

Spacious and comfortably quiet on a Tuesday evening.

Somwhat disorganised service, as appears to be the "norm" here, but the lobster was good and reasonably priced, a good choice of beer.

Not great (rather depends what you compare it to), but I would return.

“A must on Thursdays!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 January 2013

Thursday nights are live music, with excellent prices for drinks. And unbeatable 5 USD equivalent for a caipirinha is rare in Luanda and the drinks are excellent. Food is ok, but nothing amazing. Recommended if you want to have fun, also in case you just decide to go out alone, it is an excellent location to make new friends.
