The best thing about our meal was our waiter. His service was impeccable, one of the best waiters I have had in a long time. Luanda is one of the world's most expensive cities, but the prices here are ridiculous for the amount and quality of food. We ordered sushi for 5 persons and I had to go home and eat a snack! The food took much too long to get to our table and there was no kid friendly meals except for what is called for "toasts" with french fries. Our daughter ordered a chicken toast with fries and received a mayonnaise-laden mix with strips of carrots and hardly any chicken. We were all starving and ordered extra fries. The fries had been fried in old oil and had a peculiar taste. I have heard that they have a good and reasonably priced executive lunch during the week, but do not eat here unless you have an ulimited budget. The setting is lovely, modern, light and very nice tables out on the beach, but it does not merit the price!

Great atmosphere and really good food. The waiter was excellent in arranging food from the lounge menu for the kids. Unfortunately it took forever for the children's simple food to arrive. The adults had really sushi and good wines. The delay of almost 45 mins in the kids relatively simple sandwiches almost ruined their good mood. Even so Shogun has a great location, friendly staff and good food.

Been there two times, it is a great place to take the sun and enjoy the view. Prices are a bit high though, but just Luanda prices in fact...
Try the jug of champagne, gin and lots of fruits. It is light, perfect when thirsty and very good !

When friends told me i thought it was a joke: how eat raw food in Angola without get sick?

We frequent Shogun since it's opening and it's been great. The thing is that Brazil has got tradition in Japanese cuisine and I think that this place was run from the first place by a Brazilian that passed the knowledge.

The price is what makes you sick... expect USD 100 to 120 per pax. Angolan prices, most expensive city in the world...

Great seat outdoor in front of the beach. Large groups can only seat inside.

Staff are lovely, but service can let you down if you do not coordinate yourself.

Recommended.

Really good sushi paired with excellent caipirinhas make Shogun a very good place for dinner. Being on the beach is a bonus, and although newcomers to Luanda might find it expensive, you soon realise that this place offers pretty good value as well.
