Very handy location to hospitals, downtown and university. Rooms were clean although felt like they were a bit from the hotel itself as the facility is spread out. Pool and children's play area is excellent. Adult "play" facilities on site such a squash court but did not use them. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Casino in the hotel that seemed quite popular. Two restaurants on site and a gift shop

The Presidents Hotel near the Mall may be convenient for the short term traveler but the Gabs Sun is the place to be whether you've been to Gaborone once or stay there. Fantastic staff, breakfast and yes Milk Shakes - yes milk shakes!

The Gabs Sun is a a large two story building. On arrival one seems to walk for miles to one's room but one soon works out the short cuts across the courtyard. It has almost everything that most guests would want. For the energetic there is a free gym and squash court, together with free golf and use of clubs for a game at the adjacent golf course. The pool is large and well maintained, but be warned, it is very heavily chlorinated, not really a problem unless like me you can't swim with your eyes shut.
For more static entertainment there is a Casino (not visited), WiFi and 15 channel TV.
Rooms are spacious and well laid out. There is a small fridge, ample coat-hangers and a very attractive reproduction of an old travelers folding desk. This has electrical sockets to take UK plugs, South African plugs and an Universal socket for US etc.
There are 3 choices for dinner, the pool bar, the buffet and the a la carte restaurant. We chose the pool bar and had large and tasty avocado and bacon salad while I had a perfectly cooked fillet.
If breakfast is not included in your booking and you do not want a large meal, consider room service as the buffet breakfast, while excellent is expensive.

The Gabs Sun is a perennial favourite as it's easily accessible and has good food, a lovely terrace, pool and playground, so there's something for pretty much everyone. Children's parties are usually well organized and out of the way of diners. Unfortunately, the prices are quite steep by local standards and the service can be slow. Beware of the ladies after dark, especially in the Casino!

Nice as all Sun hotels. Location nice if you need to be at the university and also close to a smaal game reserve, but not an awesome place where the hotel is; you face either the swimming pool 9and some people did conplain about the noise made by the birds (really) or the car park - not very nice. Breakfast was nice and the staff really frinely. There is also a casino in the hotel, but it did not seem very busy (did not visit). The room was lovely and the service great. We really enjoyed our stay.
