“A very average hotel ”
Reviewed 18 May 2014 via mobile

This hotel is a perfectly average hotel in Gabarone . If you want a clean bed , clean shower and 30MB free internet then this is the place . Rooms are small and hotel was very busy with business people . The hotel provides a free shuttle from the airport and is a easy walk to the casino complex .

I have just returned from a 4 day business trip in Gaborone, Botswana. I stayed at the Metcourt, adjacent to the Peermont Grand Palm Hotel as I was attending a conference.

I must confess, I was disappointed from the outset. The room rate of Pula 960 is certainly not cheap, bearing in mind that in ZAR terms you should times it by 1.23, so close to ZAR 1 200 per night. This does not include breakfast, a further Pula 120 per day!

The price of breakfast will be the least of your worries, wait until you see the limited variety. So a cup of coffee and two slices of toast (if that is what you feel like), will set you back ZAR 150!
My room was on the top floor as per my request (less noise) but unfortunately it faced the car park and this was a bee hive of activity until well after 23h00 every single night.

Service levels are really poor for the price you pay! Not sure that you have an alternative in Gaborone?

Room Tip: Top floor in the corner!

Room Tip: to be air conditioned, include face cloth and tooth brush

We had a great experience at the hotel. Rooms are quite small but very clean an neat and comfy.
We loved it. If you on low budget then this is the place. Botswana was extremely hot over Christmas into new year but the pool area kept us cool and the air conditioning was much appreciated. They have a lovely kiddies play area in the main hotel which all residents are allowed to use.

2 of us stayed 4 days or so and found the hotel to be fine. The staff were great, very friendly and knowledgeble. The breakfast (included) possibly not cordon bleu but ample. Other meals in the main hotel were fine with some good value compared to many hotels.

The main reason Im writing this is to commend the hotel on their honesty and helpfulness on returning a jacket that I forgot in the hotel. I imagine it may have just disappeared in many S.African hotels but I had great service, feedback and even a call or two helping me to be reunited with my Jacket. Hats off to them...but dont leave it in the room!

One last thing is that the hotel could be better signposted. Its tricky to spot without a GPS or prior knowledge

Room Tip: Try not to get a room by the lift (at any hotel ever!)

Very good, used this hotel for 2 years now, never been disappointed! I will definately recommend to friends and family. The hospitality is warm and genuine! Will always use over and over again! Apart from business use i will certainly use for private as well, the loyalty program is absolutely stunning and most helpfull especially for weekend bookings.

Room Tip: All very good

Stayed here for 4 nights. Location is great in beautiful surroundings
Rooms are tiny with an even tighter shower cubicle. TV competes with the aircon situated just below it to be heard. Service at this venue is poor.
Saving grace was the accessibility to the restaurants at Walmont. Good service, friendly staff and variety of meal option.
