The Bistro is in a very easy location to find. Parking is easy and separate from the road. Location is very well kept with beautiful scenery. Meals are higher priced, average around 8,000 to 10,000 CFA. Many reviews said that food portions were small, I disagree as our entree was more than enough food. I ordered Le Lapin du Bistrot and my wife ordered the beer-seasoned nile perch. both meals were filling and delightful.

We went for an anniversary date, I would recommend as a nice date, meeting, or drink location. Not really a family restaurant.

The restaurant is not hard to find, as it is locate on a main road. It right next to the TV station off of Charles DE ‘Gaulle and Independence Avenue. There is plenty of parking out front and the restaurant can get busy later in the evening.
When you enter the outer door, you are greeted with a romantic ambiance accented by candlelight and well-watered plants. The wait staff is quick to greet you and it is best advised to make a reservation. The seating is intimate and you are quite close to your neighbors if you sit inside, but there is plenty of room outside. Once seated the wait staff quietly takes your drink order and then seems to disappear and then reappear with your order. The same is with your food order. The menu is not the largest, but that is a good thing. The menu is geared more towards a very fine dining experience, but it is very well done. The portions are definitely not American portions and much smaller than Americans are used to, but they are sufficient. I have had the pork, steak, and salmon on different occasions and they were all amazing. I have never eaten dessert as there are much cheaper places to get the same desserts.
This restaurant is very expensive. It might be the most expensive restaurant in Ouagadougou, excepting the hotel restaurants. It is a great date night place, but not a place where you should bring your children. Also a large party would be difficult to seat here. It very much intended for couples or parties of 4 or less.
Overall a great place to enjoy a nice meal and great conversation.

Try its great variety of fillets and salads. Taste its local dishes and drink a glass of good French wine.

Without a doubt one of the most expensive restaurants in Ouaga, but worth every franc CFA for the congenial atmosphere, the tasty food, and the outstanding service!

Once in the dining room, you feel like you've stepped from the streets of Ouaga into a different world. The waiters are helpful but discrete (try dropping your napkin and see what happens :) The chef is obviously aware that one eats with one's eyes first and the plates are artfully presented, heightening the sense of anticipation for the wonderful tastes to come. And you won't be disappointed in the tastes! The food is simply delicious.

One of the dishes I like best is the Médaillons de Boeuf aux Echalottes which is thin slices of filet covered with caramelized finely cut onions. The accompaniment (all dishes come with a pre-determined accompaniment that is included in the price) is gratin dauphinois which has got to be the best I've ever tasted since it's made with real cream!

A unique feature of the establishment is the complementary digestive they serve you after the meal: a shot of rum in which sticks of vanilla have been soaking for who knows how long. The result? A smooth drink that goes down very easily but still has a bit of a kick that you'd expect from a good rum.

Le Bistrot Lyonnais is THE destination for that special meal together with spouse or friends. Money & time well spent. HIGHLY recommended!

I lived in Lyon for two years. The owner chef is from that wonderful capital of France's culinary center. It is a real representative of the legendary Lyon cuisine. Please don't miss this restaurant - it is well worth the cost. The steaks, potatoes, desserts & appetizers I had here topped what I had in Paris a couple weeks later. The wine list is good, and considering you are in West Africa, reasonably priced. The meat here is as tasty, well-prepared and seasoned as well as you will find anywhere in the world. A big thank you to the owner for bringing Lyonais cuisine to Burkina's capital.
