A friend and I stayed at Chez Giuliana for several weeks while doing some work for graduate school. Giuliana is so incredibly sweet (she even took me to the hospital when I was sick!!) Her son, Andrea, cooks magnificent meals served on the roof, which is beautiful. You can order food to be delivered from several places nearby if Andrea isn't in town. The house has everything you could need, and everyone we met there was also very nice. The guesthouse is right near Saint-Camille Hospital, which you can use as a landmark for taxi drivers.

Great value for money with one of the best breakfasts we've had on our trip to West Africa. Beautiful terrace. Loved having a cold honesty bar (and a kitchen to use) and rooms were clean and homely. Staff were really helpful with advice and helping to organise transport. A bit out of the way of the centre but it's really easy to call a taxi (approx 2000CFA in a metred taxi to centre of town) or pick up a shared one.

This is a little gem in Ouagadougou; very colourful, great rooms, magnificent roof terrace dinners made by Andrea (Michelin material!), pleasant & efficient staff. Coming home after a long day's work, take a c-c-cold Brakina from the fridge (marking the list), set yourself down under the fan and enjoy a speedy internet link while petting the cats & berger Africains that roam around.
Dear Giuiana & Andrea, thanks for this peaceful oasis!

My four-night stay at Chez Giuliana was a pleasure! To stay in such a comfortable, relaxed, and friendly guesthouse in Ouagadougou was beyond my expectations. Andrea, the co-owner and chef made a delicious 3-course dinner every night, and even made it vegetarian as requested. After years of traveling in Africa, having delicious vegetarian meals is just not what you expect, but I found it here, and it was a very special treat. If I ever have the chance to go back to Ouagadougou, this is where I will stay!

I have stayed at Chez Guilliana several times and have had friends stay there as well. Every time has been a fantastic welcome and very accommodating to any needs one may have. The food is fantastic and having breakfast in the morning on the rooftop with the other guests is a great way to meet other people working in or visiting the area. I love the honor system of helping yourself to cold drinks and just writing it down. They also have a little kitchen for the guests where you can cook or store your own food if you want. It just feels like home with a great staff that remembers you by name and welcomes you back after a hard day under the Burkina sun. I highly recommend this great little spot.

I stayed here for 10 days and wasn't dissapointed. Guiliana and her son are very helpful for whatever you need, the personel is very firendly and the rooms are cleaned every day. They have a nice roof terrace as well as a smaller one on the first floor and it's located in a nice neighbourhood. I will stay here again if need to go to Ouagadougou

I have stayed at Giuliana's 3 times already this year and I will continue to come back. What I like about it is the relaxed atmosphere, the tastefully decorated rooms, the terrace where they serve breakfast and the fact that it is a safe place in a quiet neighbourhood but close enough to the centre of Ouagadougou.
I've tried three rooms so far, and I have to say that 'la grande/big" is my favourite, as it is very spatious, but comes with a higher price (though I got it a 'prix exonomique" as it was not totally finished and also because I had booked a smaller room in the first place. The other two rooms were also very nice.
Giuliana and Andrea are lovely hosts. Their staff is also very nice and every time I stay I meet interesting guests at the breakfast table.
I also am a fan of their dogs, Sky and Flick.

The only drawback is that the internet connection is not the fastest and there are possibly better places for that in Ouagadougou, but often it is not their fault (when I stayed there in February, the internet providers were 'on strike' so everyone in town was affected).

I recommend Giuliana's to everyone and I hear also great things about Andrea's cooking.
Also recommended is a small restaurant in the vicinity, called Chez Pascale (or sth like that) where I ate excellent fish wrapped in banana leaf. Ask Giuliana or Andrea for directions.

Room Tip: i you can, choose the room with the private bathroom as the bathroom is bigger. And I find the rooms...
