The Alisa hotel is a good business hotel, which can be everywhere in the world. It is not specific Ghana or Africa. The rooms are spacy, clean and for African standards well maintained. The food is good and great value for the low prices. The public areas are just renovated, which resulted in a bright atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
One terrible aspect is the exchange rate the hotel use for paying your room.
Be aware that you can pay in local currency (CEDI) both in cash or credit card. The staff will charge you in US$ unless you ask to pay in CEDIs. Paying in CEDI will save you up to 12% on your bill, simple because the (hotel) exchange rate they use is about 12% under the rate your credit card company use.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for staying with us at Alisa Hotel and making time for such a wonderful review.
We are glad you enjoyed our spacious , clean and well maintained rooms, our good food and our well trained staff.
As you rightly said, all our public areas are undergoing renovations and these are all just to serve our clients better.
With regards to our room rates, you are always allowed to pay the cedi equivalent of the rates given in dollars according to the hotel’s prevailing exchange rate.
We look forward to welcome you again.
Regards,

Been coming and going over the years, but I think the owner is stretching too far building more hotel blocks around this site, forgetting to get the original place right, room service on average one hour, when it comes it's wrong, having a bath would be cleaner in the river, general manger didn't fix it. I wanted to attach photo of the filthy tap water, oh nearly forgot to mention no hot water for two days

Dear Guest,
Thank you for finding time to review our Hotel, to bring to our attention the issue of the room service and helping us grow in our performances. We will take care of it to ensure our future guests a better service.
The construction of new rooms is not really affecting the existing Hotel and the issue of the water does not depending on it. We are trying to guarantee to all our guests a continuous flow of water. In Ghana, as in all of Africa, water is so precious and sometimes it happens that the water is not so clean. We have our own big filters to manage this uncomfortable situation, but when the electricity goes off (in Accra almost every day), could happen the filter will not work well immediately. You spoke with our General Manager and he took immediate action to solve the issue. The issue was solved in the next hours and our Maintenance Manager came personally, in the afternoon, to your room to check if everything was ok and you confirm that the problem was solved. We really don’t understand the reason why you are saying the General Manager didn’t fix it.
About the hot water, we didn’t get any complaint from you.
Thank you once again for your comment and we hope to see you again at Alisa.

Regards,

We were in conference at Alisa hotel. I have never seen more disorganized hotel. They quote one price then charge another. It's very expensive for the service they are offering. The lunch looked like a school buffet. Of course there was no enough food for everybody and there were no enough tables. The waiters were not in uniform, so it was difficult to find out who is the waiter. There was no salt on the table and nobody was there to open the drinks. Definitely there are much better hotels with more reasonable price in Accra.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for taking time to bring to our notice your observation during your conference in our hotel last year. We would like to offer our sincere apologies on any inconveniences you encountered during your conference.
We would also like to state that our staffs are always in uniforms and none would be allowed to serve if they are not in uniforms and our services have improved tremendously since the date in discussion.
Kindly send us a private message with details of your claims so we can investigate further to prevent this from happening again.
Thank you once again for your review. We hope you give us the chance to serve you again for you to witness the true Alisa Hotel.

I decided to stay at the Alisa for a night, on my way to Kumasi, as I am planning to bring a conference here in September; I wanted to check out the facilities for myself. I have to say they passed with flying colors.

The rooms are clean with comfortable beds; there is free wifi and the food was good, and very well priced. There is a nice gym, a nice size swimming pool and tennis courts.

The conference facilities were good, clean and comfortable with AC. I was very pleased with the hotel and recommend it to all, it is not far from the airport or the Art Center (arts and crafts market).

The Hotel has about three buildings with a small road between them. The sourrounding is very neat and right from the main gate all the way to the reception you find very warm personnel willing and ready to meet your needs.

The rooms are large and very clean, the sheets and towels are all clean and way beyond the 3 star hotel that it is. There is a regular supply of hot water in the bathroom and the cleaners are very efficient and courteous.

The food is fantastic and the breakfast is most impressive. What I find lacking though is the dearth of traditional ghanian foods for daring travellers like me. It will be nice to have some local delicacies on the menu.

The intetrnet in the room was fantastic and problems were quickly resolved by the IT department.

I recommend Alisa as the place to be in Accra

Room Tip: The main hotel building will be a better option to stay.

We had been in Ghana since 10th of march but the hotel we got online was very good in Trassacco but it was very far from the national theater (1 hr 30 mins) which was the venue of the event we came for, so we decided to move closer .We got Alisa through the cab driver and we moved to Alisa hotel with my family on 13th march 2014, we were totally disappointed because of the following reasons:
1. The drain in the bathroom was blocked roon was water logged and eventually it made the room to stink. We complained to the receptionist who promised to call the maintenance department and that took almost forever before showing up. When they came eventually they couldn't fix the fault. We were asked to go and take our bath in another room yet it had the same complained.
2. There was no hot water to have our bath and my kids of 1 year, 3 years and 10 years had to bath with cold water. This particularly made me very sad and disappointed despite that huge amount paid per-night and importantly we had to pay on individual basis.
3. We reported the incidence to the manager(light- skinned lady) downstairs and she displayed some terrible attitude. I don't think she is fit to be a manager of a huge edifice like Alisa Hotel.
4. We didn't get a camp bed for the kids they had to sleep on a mattress and that to us was a slap on the management of Alisa Hotel if we could get it at the Trassacco hotel we lodged initially.
Alisa Hotel is beautiful but the management must be on their toes, take customer's review seriously not only replying but also apologising if need be. The breakfast was fantastic i must commend them.
