“A little on the expensive side but worth it”
Reviewed 23 July 2011

Decided to stay in this hotel because of the price of $80 only to be told that SAME room for double occupancy was $130! (after we had offloaded our luggages and released the cab!) But we stayed anyway cause we wanted to be pampered after a bad experience at another hotel.

It was OK. Clean rooms, comfortable bed, clean bathrooms, functioning Internet, decent staff. They even have a Chinese restaurant on the 3rd floor. The room came with free breakfast which was very decent. I just never got over that initial price jump from 80 to 130,made me feel....tricked (guess it was partly my fault for not quite understanding their rates when they explained).

Our best experience with the hotel has to be with their 24hr cab driver Daniel. His rates were very decent and he took us to several places and really made our stay enjoyable

I guess this hotel would be affordable for one person but its quite pricey otherwise. But my overall experience was positive

At first I was not happy staying in this , as i was supposed to live at tulip , but last minute changes forced us to stay here .
I was booked in a suite, amazingly clean n real value for money. The room service food was fantastic, not much of view or something, its purely for business stay .
downstairs just outsied hotel is a gr8 bakery , loved the cakes there ..
if any one is looking for staying near accra airport, i wud recommend this hotel .
thougy problem of electricity was there n ac had to be switched on manually every time electricity tripped, which was lil stupid .
Total Value for money , if u book a suite in here .

Spacious room with air conditioning costing $US70 per night was reasonable price. All facilities worked and were adequate for the purpose. The business centre was good. Wifi was free and always available.
Each floor is encircled by a continuous balcony accessible only by climbing through a window ! That explains the break-ins although I had no problems and my window locks were good.
Taxis are a hassle everywhere in Accra, because drivers are illiterate, don't know the road names, don't speak much English and the roads are a nightmare of congestion.
The hotel design is functional if not to a Western standard of finish and with much wasted space in the architectural layout. The workers are cheerful and worked intensively to keep everyone happy with a genuine regard for guest privacy and security. Hot water flowed almost all the time.
Breakfast was sub-standard and never changed. Africans can do food but the hotel management has to budget more $ for ingredients which were very poor. What do those chickens eat for them to lay such pale eggs? The bread was low grade. Coffee was good. The confiture was appreciated.
Downstairs coffee shop was good but had very steep prices comparable to those in Paris or London but guests are hostage to it due to lack of alternatives in the area. Spintex Rd is semi industrial. I'm surprised a little stall has not appeared next door selling branded food.

Budget price Lebanese-run hotel near the Accra shopping mall (handy for the airport) on the traffic-choked Spintex Road. New building (2009) with limited facilities. Coffee bar on the ground floor and a Chinese restaurant in the same building. Friendly staff but stay marred by windows bolted shut and lack of fresh air in the rooms (reaction to reported burglaries in the rooms). Forget the published rates, you can negotiate a double room for $60 but it is better to pay a bit more and have fresh air and better facilities (Airport West Hotel, for example).
