been there last december and this march, and must admit it's ok for the price..
when I travel for business, I always take this 'upperclass' hotels, but I try to combine business with holidays, and when I have to pay for it myself, I don't feel like paying 300 USD a night for Golden Tulip or Movenpick,...

the rooms are clean, but old..
the bathroom is ok, and there's a flatscreen and a fridge..
airconditioning and fan are working perfect, but the light in my room was very weak..

the cleaner is a very nice man, and does a great job..

too bad they don't have a swimming pool, but Labadi beach is close by and easy to reach by taxi.

not a luxury place, but hey, in Accra you don't rest, you go to the beach and to the bars/clubs..

Today a friend and I arrived at Joska Lodge only to find that our reservation was not kept. After completing a registration form at the direction of the receptionist, we were shown a water damaged and musty room on the first floor that had another guest's luggage and one used towel in it. We expressed our displeasure only to be told that there were no other rooms, we should find a room elsewhere, and that we could not have two towels. After some back and forth, the receptionist insisted the unfolded towel was clean, said we should bear it for the night, and said that she would change our room the next day. We agreed thinking that we could not get a reservation elsewhere on a Saturday evening. Then the receptionist left while telling us to come and pay. In 10 minutes time we made a reservation elsewhere and decided to leave. As we proceeded to leave, the receptionist and the manager demanded we pay VAT because the registration form was filled out. We refused and asked why we should pay tax for something we did not receive. The manager screamed on and on about the form and a hotel employee blocked and locked the exit door. We were screamed at and held until we paid the VAT.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the second floor. Avoid the crazy manager. You only receive one towel per room.

Clean, quiet, air-conditioning, fridge, flat-tv, hot water, wireless internet, own back-up generator (and it's Ghana, you need that)
Medium breakfast if the food is made by the woman-cook. Different and good if it's made by the guy.
Very good location, in OSU, close to many european restaurants, clubs.
Conclusion: if you are on first time in Africa and you went only to 3+ stars hotels, and you have money, don't choose this. If you look for a budget place, clean decent place, Joska Lodge is ok.

Room Tip: all rooms are ok.
