Great tour and near the airport a great final destination with a nice restaurant on the premises. Worth the visit to learn about Dubois

“Go in with the right expectations”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

Make sure you head in with the right expectations. It's not a grand museum, it's a slightly rundown house with some exhibits. It felt like our guide was still a student herself. Some of the exhibits were clearly temporary(printed paper on the walls), but if you like history and want to learn more about WEB Debois, it's worth a visit.

“Needs a good dusting”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

For an important man of the time, this once home of WEB Dubois is a far drive from Accra central. Staff on hand are helpful and informative. House is sparsely furnished with items from WEB Dubois's past. His prolific library on site is very interesting yet kept in a humid room with evidence of black mold on the books. Interesting place to visit especially in relating to Pan African discussions of the past. Site needs a bit of a renovation and some information updates.

“Dr. WEB Dubois Spoke To Me”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

No tours on Sundays? But weekends are when people want to visit such attractions and unfortunately the tour guides are not in the centre on Sundays. When you do find them one feels the excitement and persecution of this great American man.

“Interesting piece of History”
Reviewed 24 March 2014

I studied the W.E.B. Dubois in my African-American History course in college so I was pretty excited to go view his center. However the Center is a bit run down, it's disappointing. It does have key articles/items for his life which is interesting to view, and shows how he transitioned to life in Ghana. He is also buried on the grounds. The center could and should be more interactive as well as more reflective of his writings and ideologies.
