“I had a good stay! Go with an open mind.”
Reviewed 27 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

This property is ideal for someone who's been in Africa before and knows a little bit about how things work in Africa. It's a little away from city center but an adventurous first time visitor can manage it. The property basically has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It's good to go with an open mind. Remember, Ghana is very HOT and humid; and it's VERY EXPENSIVE to cool the house - you pay electricity out of pocket.

PROS:
1. Nice clean house
2. Air condition in living room and two of the three bedrooms
3. House keeper is very helpful and will ran errands for you
4. There is 24-hr security at the main entrance
5. Kitchen has everything you need. I was surprised to see the American style coffee maker for those of us who love our coffee brewed. I cooked a lot during my stay.
6. There is a taxi station not too far from the house. Or the house keeper can go get a taxi for you if you don't feel like walking to the taxi station.
7. Internet: Most of the internet connectivity in Ghana is based on wireless technology. However, not all locations in Ghana have good reception for this wireless internet connectivity. During my stay, I purchased BUSY INTERNET's wireless service. They gave me a little receiver. I was able to receive fairly good internet connectivity inside this house.
8. You can't beat the price. You have 3 bedrooms, living room, kitchen, master bedroom ensuite, all for a fraction of what a regular one hotel room would cost. You can't beat it!

CONS:
A lot of the cons about this property is not on the part of the property owner but just the way the system works in Africa or Ghana for that mater; but I think everyone should be aware of those as well.
1. Water pressure is low: Property owner has addressed this by attaching a water pump. The house keeper will put on the water pump if you want to use the shower and the water will flow normally. What happens when you want to take a shower and the house keeper is not around? TIP: There are buckets in the showers. You can fill those with water, let them sit in the bathrooms, and use them to shower (assuming you know how to shower using buckets of water). This was good for me because letting the water sit overnight cools the water and allows you to have better/cooler bath compared to showering with a match warmer water straight from the showers.
2. Cooling the house is expensive: Electricity in Ghana is very expensive. You pay the electricity out of pocket during your stay. For about a 2-week stay for one person, plan to spending about $100 on electricity; that's just for having one air condition on at a time (say living room or bedroom at a time). If you plan on having 2 air conditions on at a time, plan on spending about $200 on electricity for about a 2-week stay. The air condition consumes all the electricity. The electricity service in Ghana is prepaid.
3. Third bedroom does not have air condition. It has ceiling fan. If you lived all your life in a temperate region, you cannot sleep in a hot humid concrete room in Africa with just a ceiling fan. Note, that's just the third bedroom. There are 2 other bedrooms with air condition. Plus the living room also has air condition will make a good third bedroom.
4. Location is a little far from city center. Transportation will consume a chunk of your budget.

All said, my overall view of this property is a positive one and I'll DEFINITELY stay there again when I next visit Ghana.

I had my doubts when I was booking this place but Joe the owner has an excellent customer service. The caretaker Atta made me feel welcome and will do everything to help you feel comfortable . The house itself is a clean and charming home. It's simple and nice. I am loving it here and hope to stay here every time I am in Ghana . Thanks Joe.

Our stay was very awesome, the owner and the staff are very great and always available to make you feel the Ghanaian hospitality. The house is secluded in a gated community, and it's very cozy , serene and has the suburban feel family cherished . My family and I can wait for our next visit.

We enjoyed our stay, Atta the housekeeper was nice. Transportation dissolves your funds because it is far from stores and restaurants. The water pressure was bad. Overall the stay was ok. The heat and the power situations are an inconvenience. Some remodeling needs to be done.

Thanks a lot for your review and your decision to stay with us. The power generator installed on the premises is to help relieve the problem of general power outages in the country. The power situation is at the moment a major problem in Ghana. We have plans to renovate the bathrooms and retile the bathrooms after the summer season. Thanks a lot for your feedback.

It was a safe location. With question or assistance we always could ask the caretaker to help.
Which we also did. He always came with good and honest advise !!
Very friendly neigbours ! And free carpark.
Very comforting was the 24/7 guards. Quit neigbourhood as wel.
