This is a sanctuary (not a zoo) and so the animal population naturally fluctuates as animals are rehabilitated. A key objective is to release those that are suitable back into their natural and native environment. As long as one understands this, it is very enjoyable.
Also, if you get the chance, they have a lovely market in the sanctuary garden on the last Saturday morning of every month. This has a selection of local fresh and specialty foods and some truly superb crafts and art items. Look for Molten Blue art items. They are made from recycled aluminum and are gorgeous. Best of all, you can buy Linga...a truly amazing local speciality wine that is its own thing...kind of like a cross between a dry Sherry and a brandy.
