“Maintenance issues”
Reviewed 9 June 2014 via mobile

Feels like an airport, with high security, high prices and a nightly milling of Air France crews in the lobby bar. The rooms are fine: international, standard.
But it's badly finished and maintained. The room phone didn't work. There was no hook on the bathroom wall for the shower head and no shower curtain to stop the floor and the toilet paper hanging off the bathtub from getting wet. When the holder fell off the tub it sat on the side all week.
The pool was cloudy and shedding tiles.
Breakfast was $26, nearly a week's wages for the average Malian.
All this said, if you want the convenience and comforts of a large commercial hotel, this is the best option in Bamako.

We stayed here for 4 days.It was ok but it is very very expensive. So if I know how much I didn't stay here at the begining. Services were not good. Services at rooms are also with cash. I didn't like this.

I stayed in this hotel for business for five nights with a group of colleagues. It provides a five-star bubble of safety, luxury and comfort worlds away from the reality and lives of the general population of Bamako.

It is difficult to hold a hotel in Mali to European standards, even one of a high-end international brand. Nonetheless, beyond the several little service hick-ups experienced during our stay, a couple of things stand out: there was no hot water in my shower at any time, which was made bearable by the fact that cold water still has a temperature of about 25 degrees celsius.

We encountered repeated trouble regarding our reservations and payment modalities which each time turned out to be based on a lack of internal communication between the hotel's reservation department and the reception. Still, on every occasion, staff gave us the feeling that it was actually us who had to solve the problem.

On the plus side, all of the several meals I had were excellent, both breakfast and dinner as well as lunch in the bar.

I did not find anything outstanding in this hotel but nothing awful either!
The hotel itself is well secured.
My room was rather large and clean. The breakfast was acceptable (with good home made cakes)

Stayed here for 3 nights and I must recommend this for the safety and security that the hotel provides in the premises in commendable. The rooms are pretty small for the property rating. Also while they have 5 star standards, free complimentary water is provided only on the first day and not thereafter. Complained a no of times for the bathroom issues for flow of water, but never got addressed in the entire tenure. The breakfast is filling and with good variety of fruits and other hot and cold offerings. Overall a good hotel for peaceful stay in Mali (Bamako)

Room Tip: Ask for bigger rooms with better room interiors and structure

This hotel is quite nice for business travellers. Service here is excellent, although the cab drivers can be another story. Taxis here charge by the hour but try to negotiate a good rate at the beginning rather than waiting until the end. Otherwise they will try to spend as much time driving you around to charge you the maximum fare.

It was very warm when I came in April so I didn't end up spending any time by the pool, but something nice they do is mist cool air outdoors so that at dinnertime, if you're eating outside, it's not too hot.

The food selection here is a bit limited but if you like pizza you have lots of options. They have a great outdoor pizza oven and barbecue stand, in addition to the standard fare. You also have the option of either eating out by the pool or indoors. Breakfast here is very similar to other Radisson Blus but whilst they have plenty of juice options, there is a limited variety of cold cuts.

The internet was a bit slower than I expected, but it worked and that's always a plus! It was difficult to Skype/FaceTime but otherwise most websites loaded at an average speed.

Compared with other Radisson Blus, this hotel had wonderful pillows. Most Carlson hotels have pretty awful pillows that are too soft and collapse, but these pillows were nice and firm. Sleep quality here was great!

Would definitely stay here again!
