Wolmar part of the bay is at the end of a long stretch of hotel beaches, separated from the town of Tamarin, occupying the opposite side, by an undeveloped river estuary covered in low forest.
I had really high hopes regarding Tamarin Bay and was left rather disappointed.
Tamarin beach is meant to have really good surfing conditions, and there were some youngsters playing around on their surfboards. There is a couple restaurants and a surf-themed store on the main road (all close fairly early!). You will see the salines at the main crossroads and unless you walk up towards the residential area you won't find much else there.
Wandering through the streets can give a feel to what 'real' life in Mauritius feels like. I wouldn't see it as enough a reason to come to Tamarind Bay.
