Eisbein and beer in an eclectic atmosphere. Happy smiling service and a great German food in the heart of Africa.

We had dinner at Joe's Beerhouse on the last day of a camping tour through Zambia, Botswana, and Namibia. We knew we liked it right away-- the atmosphere is great and the decor is really cool. We had a great meal, the highlight of which was a kebab with all different types of game meat. It was delicious. Portions are generous and prices are quite low considering everything you get! We had a bottle of wine, an app, two main courses, and dessert, and the bill still came to only about $50 USD.

We loved this place and wish we lived closer so we could go back!

Got a chance to eat all the animals I had seen on safari under the roof of this place which seems to serve pints of Jagermeister.

While I was in Namibia, I used to go to this wonderful bar with my friends. We enjoyed every single evening there! Staff was really nice and friendly, the drinks very good and the atmosphere great.
You can meet a lot of interesting peopld there and you will always have fun! I haven't tried the food (except the chips, which were delicious and the portion really big), but it always looked really yummy.
If you get the chance on your trip, visit Joe's Beerhouse! You won't regret it.

We went twice as it was the nearest restaurant to where we were staying (Villa Vista - see separate review). Little did we realize that it seems to have an iconic reputation among German speakers, and rightly so as it is in part an attraction and in part a restaurant and in part a pub.

As we went for the food, I should first say that it was excellent and also good value. The service was excellent the first time we went although less so the second time, but the staff were universally friendly. The first time we had a table for two and the second time we were on a shared table which will not be to every ones taste, though this was probably as we booked on the same day (I am told that some book weeks in advance).

The place is something of a rabbit warren - the wooden construction seems as though it has evolved somewhat haphazardly and around each corner is found another eating area, a bar or an open area. Every spare space is filled with artifacts - most German (eg German beer bottles or beer labels or old German Snow Shoes) and signs that are German, British or American. Indeed the first time we visited we spent some time after the meal exploring the nooks and crannies and artifacts.

The draft beer is good too!

We saw one wheelchair user. There is an attended car park out the back. We walked there |(approx 400 metres) from our accommodation.
