“30th wedding anniversary gift!”
Reviewed 19 March 2014

As a 30th wedding anniversary gift, my siblings and I were stuck. What could we do while my dad was on work in Namibia, with our mum based back in South Africa. So we flew her over for the weekend, and booked them into Auas Safari Lodge for a weekend away!

And all positive reviews from both parents - they loved it. Room was great, food was fantastic, had a lovely game-drive in the morning and really found it a special place and a special time. Said that they would recommend it to anyone, and would love to return.

Quote from them... 'having supper under a thatched open air eating area. In the distance lightening over the mountains. We have really been spoilt'.

Thank you to staff for putting flowers in there room and for the fantastic service.

After 5500 km driving Auas Game Lodge was our final stop. We stayed for 4 nights and it was perfect to start relaxing and enjoy the calm of the nature and the facilities of the lodge. The pool area is great, food very good and the staff very friendly. We also enjoyed the company of an Impala that seemed to like the lodge too because it was always around the restaurant and pool area. From time to time some ostriches were also showing up to check what's going on. I can really recommend this lodge as a final stop before flying back home as the airport is really close.

. The lodge is very convenient for a stay at either the beginning or end of a holiday as it is close to the airport. The surroundings are stunning, the food is excellent and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful like one big happy family!
After spending three weeks game viewing from a vehicle it was fantastic to arrive at Auas
and be able to walk seeing giraffe, waterbuck zebra, kudu, warthog, springbok, impala and wilderbeest and the most incredible bird life at the dam and around the lodge. It is such a relaxing place.

This is a super lodge not too far from Windhoek or the Airport. The grounds are interesting the rooms (Chalets) clean, functional and comfortable. Due to some problems with a tour company I was the only guest for the three nights that I was there. I was treated like one of the family, the food and service was excellent. I went on a game drive with Ritchie, the manager, and saw Zebra,Giraffes, Waterbucks, Kudus and Wildebeeste. I also went for a few nice 2 -3 hour walks around the lodge. Wonderfully relaxing !!!!

Fantastic. Tucked away close to the Auas mountains about 45min. outside of Windhoek. We did not know that the fauna and flora of Namibia can look as beautiful and rich as this. Real Leopard country, oh BIG leopards!. Traveled along a good dirt road and wha la! found the main gate to Auas Game Lodge. Typical huge welcoming entrance gate to the Game lodge. Once entering we drove slowly towards the Lodge.

Fantastic, we closed off our Namibian Honeymoon at Auas Game Lodge, having spent two weeks in Namibian wild country, this is a sure stop before you leave the Namibian Wilderness, or even before. Because the Game rangers know their stuff on all plants, flowers, trees, birds, animals and of coarse reptiles. So we really got a better understanding about the Namibian Wilderness, the same Wilderness we spent two weeks in. Wow! Amazing stuff. Richy our Game Ranger took us out and what made it special was that the entire Lodge made sure we were in Honeymoon mode, all things being very romantic. Nice drives into the bush to have some sundowners.

Really cool place! Takka the Jack Russel dog met us as we arrived and we hit it off from the word go! Or was it Go fetch? Nice little guy always up for some sports playing fetch and chasing frisbee. Bokkie the little Impala buck gracefully struts her stuff while continually mowing the lawn around the Lodge. She has a very interesting history, worth asking them about. Very cute.

We stayed there four days, went for wild walks, bush drives, sundowners and recharged our batteries after a long two weeks honeymoon in Namibia, well these were our final days. We just relaxed and soaked up the hospitality. The pool was great the food , out of this world! From Venison(game) to beef , to some exotic veggies, it was all "compliments to the Chef!!!"

At the end of our tour through Namibia we stayed for a week in the Auas lodge to relax.
Close to the airport (less then one hour drive) and Windhoek the lodge was excactly what we needed.Situated in a breathtaking landscape it offered fine meals super service a nice pool.
During the Game drive we could see a lot of animals and it of ended with a beautifull sundown on a small hill. We also wandered a lot , helped with a map and good advise from the Manager which gave you an complete different feeling as beeing driven around ( a giraf is pretty big if you stand on the ground in front of him)
The Quad drives are (luckely) not offered anymore.
As the lodge is in new management there are a lot of things changing, looking at the plans it just will be even better the next time we will visit the auas lodge

We were introduced to Namibia here at the Auas Game Lodge as the first place we stayed. I was very impressed with the friendliness of the staff and how much they wanted to make us feel at home. The food was good, and they catered to my vegetarian request. We enjoyed hiking the trails near the lodge. The highpoint was the afternoon game drive. We did not see this many animals on any other game trip we took. I as absolutely over the moon to end the trip with a family of giraffes. My favorite photo was giraffe at sunset. The rooms were clean. I highly recommend this lodge.
