“Fabulous place to stay after exploring the country!”
Reviewed 5 February 2014

Comfortable, clean, large rooms with two small pools, plenty of spaces to chill, a small, decent restaurant that serves lunch and dinners, with a decent breakfast included! Best to have your own transportation as its up on the hill! But the quiet, views, gardens, and pleasant staff make this place a jewel to rest and relax at after days of exploring the country before flying out!

Room Tip: We had big room 16 off of one of the kitchens where they serve lunch and dinner. Quiet early in morn...

This should be the place to stay in Windhoek. Large beautifully furnished and decorated room with excellent extras, including a safe and a small fridge with mini-bar in the wardrobe, and coffee making facilities, and DSTV and reasonable internet connection (which I found to be strongest in the breakfast room and limited in the bedroom).
The guest house is in two large villas and has two pools, although only one was available while we were there as the place was not full. The swimming pool was nicely cool given the temperature outside, and it was just steps from our room. There was quite a range of places to sit outside, in full or partial sun, or in the shade, whatever you desired. There is also a Wendy house and slide in the garden. There was some gym equipment available, which my partner enjoyed after several weeks of not being able to have a workout. There was also a small kitchen to heat up food as required.
Breakfast was generous and tasty, although I had to ask for butter on both mornings we were there, rather than having it automatically available. The coffee was good as far as Namibian coffee goes, and the toaster was small (2 slice only) but quick. Gypsy the old Labrador was very friendly and welcomed regular pats - made me a bit homesick for my two dogs.
On the first night the mattress was hard (more than just firm), and we mentioned that to Janine the next morning at breakfast when she enquired how our sleep was, and within an hour the next morning the mattresses were swapped to much more comfortable ones, the beds remade and room serviced. Perfect! Gabriel the security guard was friendly and all the other staff were great as well.
Should I return to Windhoek I will definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Room 12 was beautiful!!!

After spending five nights in Etosha National Park, we drove back to Windhoek and spent the night here before returning to Cape Town on the early morning flight.
It has a modern design and fittings and the reception staff were very welcoming so first impressions were very favourable.
Our room was comfortable although there were a few omissions of toiletries and lack of attention to details of cleaning.
We were advised to help ourselves to cakes, coffee and tea any time and we had a pleasant, wholesome evening meal. We missed breakfast because we had to get to the airport (a 45 minute drive) by 5 a.m.

Hi Mr Graham :)

thank you so so much for your review. Unfortunately it is listed on the wrong property.

I believe this is supposed to be for Monte Bello Guesthouse also know as Villa Moringa @ Monte Bello :)

I will ask Trip Advisor to move the comment to Monte Bello :)

All the best.

Thank you

Where do I start? I worked in Windhoek for around three months this year and my place of residence was the Villa Moringa. I checked it out on Tripadvisor and was well impressed. When I got there it was every bit as nice as I'd seen on the website. The owners, their management team and staff are the nicest people you'd ever wish to meet. They are all so ready to assist with your requirements and make your stay as pleasant and memorable as possible.
I stayed in two different rooms during my time in Windhoek and both were of a very high standard, very comfortable and spotless. The cleaning staff clean the rooms meticulously every day. There's a nice dinner menu served indoors or outdoors at the Villa if you don't fancy venturing into the city. The service is great and always with a smile. A good (in-house) laundry service is provided and your garments are returned to your room promptly afterwards. Many of the guests stay at Villa Moringa for one or two nights prior to and after going on safari. It's the perfect place for a stop over with two swimming pools to help you cool down. There are facilities for children playing. There is also parking space if you have a vehicle.
Janine & Joao of the management team are only too happy to assist with helping you arrange excursions.
After I had finished my employment, I had a holiday trip around Namibia with my partner. We stopped at Villa Moringa at either end of our trip. I had told her previously how great my accommodation was and when she arrived she was so impressed. I've been home for one week and I am already missing the place already!

Room Tip: Room 12 is great with the sun loungers and swimming pool outside the door.

Comfortable rooms, modern decorated.
Very friendly people, we were extremely well received.
The management team is also friendly and always welcome to help.
Our girls loved the swimming pool, even though the water was really cold.
We loved the food and we just had some snacks....
Very easy to find... When we arrived, our driver took us there, but when we were returning from Etosha, we had to get there by ourselves and we did it!!!!
Very nice place to stay.
Certainly one of the best guesthouses to stay in Windhoek :)

This guesthouse is located a little over 30min away from Hosea Kutako International Airport in one of suburbs on the outskirts of Windhoek. The town has all the basic necessities one would need and it is fairly easy to get around. The guesthouse is quite central to most of the attractions which makes travelling around quite easy.
Villa Morninga Guesthouse is a lovely place within a quiet suburb with beautiful surroundings. The establishment consists of 2 separate buildings; we were staying in the building with the double rooms. Our room was neat and clean and the bathroom was quiet large.
The dining area is beautifully done and the spread was great. There is a nice view of the town from the deck outside the dining area. The only downside to our stay was the service in the dining area. There was no one around to help us and the only thing you could order from the kitchen was bacon and eggs.
The manager (Janine) and security guard (Gabriel) were extremely helpful and were a pleasure to talk to.
Our stay was calm and relaxed; quite enjoyable.
