Owner description: Cultural Adventure tours of Katutura-Windhoek by bicycle!

I spent a great morning with Katu Tours - although I was the only attendee that morning the guide was very informative, repsonding to all my questions and taking time to link the experience. The guide was patient when I couldn't keep up on the steep hills, and I felt safe at all times. It would have been great to have a few people in the tour group, as there is an option to go to a shebeen for a few drinks at the end of the tour.

Althoguh I got lost in finding the tour start location, it added to the adventure of exploring the township. Beautiful location, get there early for a coffee on the small lake before the start of the tour. There's an opportunity to support the Penduka women's project which is an interesting intiaitve and great way to contribute to the community. I would really recommend Katu tours, an interesting view to the city.

We didn't know what to expect from this day tour in Windhoek, but it was active, educational, fun and different from any experience we've had in other townships across southern Africa. Anna's enthusiasm, knowledge and personal compassion for the people and especially the women of Penduka was infectious and we hope to return again some day soon. Thank you for helping to raise the profile and strength of the people of Katutura, and giving us a new perspective on township tourism.

I did the tour with a couple of friends. Anna (Namibian who set up this business) is very engaged and does a great job as a tour guide! In my opinion this is the best way to experience Katutura and to learn more about Namibia’s history and current state! I definitely recommend this tour to everyone!!!

After a little trouble getting in touch we finally got an e mail from Anna and booked our bicycle trip. As we were a large group some of the smallest children had to go in an escort car which was a good solution. Katutura has relatively busy streets and some steep hills. It turned out to be a very exciting way to see Katutura as we got very close to the action and atmosphere while cycling along. After a while Anna revealed for us that we were her first customers! No wonder people were pointing at us and having a good laugh. No one had seen 15 westerners on bikes and with helmets and reflecting garments. The tour ends and starts at the impressive Penduka centre. Good luck with the business Anna.
