This can be quite an awe-inspiring trip to take for any Namibian or beyond border visitors. You really 'get Namibia' when you take your time browsing through the extremely unique yet diverse cultures of this beautiful country.
Only snags and hiccups? The monotonous recurring moan of "Donations Please" - which was targeted solely on the poor tourists (poor as in shame, not financially stricken). Otherwise it's a great experience, if you're not from here make sure you take a local with you for proper edutaining excursion.

It's free, but when you walk to the exit the man at the desk asks you to write down your name and he appreciates it that you give a donation. We had no problem with that.
It was our first day in Namibia, so it was interesting to learn a bit of Nambia, before we traveled through the country.
The setting was a bit amateuristic, but ok.

This museum is housed in two sections - the historical and political section in Alte Feste, and the anthrolopological/natural history section in Owella. The Alte Feste section was a disappointment. Run-down, boring, and devoted primarily to glorification of the rebel movement (and its leaders) leading to independence. The old historical photographs are interesting though, particularly the gruesome ones of the execution of the old king. The Owela section (a couple of blocks down the street) was more interesting, particularly the gallery showcasing Namibia's fascinating ethnography. Beware though - I ran to the Owella to get there before closing at 5pm, and it was already closed by 4:45pm! Worth a visit, especiallyl as the museums are free.
