“Good Hostel, Overbearing Staff”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

The hostel itself is very clean, the location is close to downtown, but I was warned about getting robbed outside on the streets (even during the day) around the hostel. Just be cautious and you will be fine. You HAVE TO write a review before getting wifi access which is before you have even spent any time at the hostel. The staff also likes to show you the proper way to wash dishes, ect. even if you are in your late 20's, which can be annoying. Outside pool is nice, there is a great social atmosphere. Tons of Germans who are working in the area live here.

Until March this year wifi was not for free. Becuae it is getting more and more a necessary service for the guest I have thought about how to provide it for free and had that idea: 99,9 % of our guest do not write a review of Paradisegarden. It is existing since almost 8 years and only 9 reviews!!!! :(
That is very sad. So the policy of getting free wifi for writing a review I think is only fair. Maybe its a bit complicated because how should you write a review if you are only here for some hours? Some new guests did so and we got 5 new reviews in this year. If anybody has a better idea I am open to that one!
About washinig dishes: Namibia is a very dry country. But most of the travellers do not have that in mind. They open a tap and clean maybe 1 spoon under running water. That is liters and liters that get wasted.!!!! Paradisegarden has thought about how to minimize that consumption and is showing their guest how to use less water. Even if you are older maybe you can learn something new and apply it at your home and with that do something for the environment.

Clean and calm, with a pool. Christine runs the place like she has seen it all and takes care that you are ok. She even offers a walk with her dog Vanilla, a friendly creature. There's a kitchen with everything you need and as the place offers rooms for long-term stayers there's will be always interesting people to meet.

I stayed here for couple of days when I visited Windhoek. Beautiful place with great neighbourhood little away from city but wthin walking distance (15mins). Initially I booked the place over the phone and I had to reschedule couple of times over the email and everytime I got the response immediately and they didn't charge me for the last minute changes either. Wonderful people and I would recommend to any one who is on budget like me.

I stayed here for some days before and after my trip to Namib Desert and Etosha NP. I was easy to find from the long distance busses stop in the city and the host was friendly to let me in quite early in the morning and show me everything. Cab should cost you around 20-30 N$ from the city. I had a nice time here to relax and enjoy the weather.

We stayed in this backpackers with four people after a road trip. Most of the other guests were students staying for a longer term. The owner runs the place and she is really a nice host. There is a nice swimming pool and places to relax outside. There is a big kitchen were you can cook your own food. I would really recommend this place if you go to windhoek as it is really nice and cosy and I found everything very clean.

Paradisegarden backpackers is a nice, cosy place to spend a few relaxing days. Pool, garden and terrace are spacious and perfect to chill out before or after a tour through Namibia. The dorms are clean and not too stuffed.
