My wife and I have stayed at Rivendell many times for work. Most of these stays have been extended stays for a few weeks. The grounds are lovely and the staff are very polite, courteous and always available to help if need be. I particularly like that there is a kitchen that guests can use to cook dinner and recently we stayed in the self-contained flat that has a kitchen and ensuite. I will be staying here again in the future.

Stayed here for one night in mid-December. The grounds were neat and tidy and the room was big and clean. The bathroom had recently been renovated and was excellent. Plus there was a lovely small cat named Frodo and a huge Mastiff named Tess who loved having her belly rubbed!

The drawback for us was that the bed was a small double (140cm) and with it being mid-December and 35c+ the lack of air-conditioning was very noticeable. Needless to say the sleep was not of the best quality.

The other thing - and this is just personal to me and mine - is the communal breakfast table. I find these to be laborious and tiresome, complete with all types of "travellers" swapping stories and engaging in one-ups-manship. Fortunately it was fairly quiet when we were at Rivendell so this was not as problematic for us as it could have been.

If you are looking for a nice, quiet B&B at an affordable price, then you can't go wrong. Just be aware that it is not among the higher end B&Bs that can be found in Windhoek, although it is nice and comfortable in its own right.

We stayed here for three nights on our stop in Windhoek.
Nice, big and modern room with a good ensuite bathroom, friendly staff. On a good location in Windhoek, on walking distance from the towncenter. Save carpark.
The only drawback was that the wifi internet was not working, especially when you want to make further arrangements for your trip.

A group of 5 of us stayed here on our first night in Namibia. The guest house is a really decent b&b. The rooms are large and clean. It has it's own communal kitchen, which rather reminded me of my backpacker days.

The owner / manager was really helpful and knowledgeable. She gave us so much advise for our trip. Including things like which are the more scenic routes and whether or not to go down Skeleton coast. She also helped us book a table for dinner, when most restaurants in Windhoek seemed fully booked.

The guesthouse is in a very residential area 10mins walk from city centre. Despite the restaurant for dinner being about 10 minute walk from guesthouse and there being 5 of us, we were advised not to walk there and to take taxi instead.

Place very clean and offer more than expected. Area also reasonable quite no loud noises during the night in-spite of it being Saturday night. Will use the place again in the future. Save parking inside easy entrance.

Nice room and good breakfast, with all guests around the table. Friendly people. Drinks available for a good price. Walking distance to the city centre, but not really close. We stayed just one night on the start of our holiday. There was even a Dutch channel on the TV.
