This small Guesthouse is a family runned B&B. Very friendly hosts and a good location. The building itself seems pretty new and clean.

Nice big rooms, TV...etc.

Apart from Wifi not working everything else was good. Would go back there.

A relatively new, very quiet, clean and friendly establishment providing bed and breakfast and a place of relaxation with its own swimming pool (15 metres by 2.5 metres approximately) a sauna and a somewhat basic ('work in progress') fitness room. Whilst it does not provide dinner, Joe's Beerhouse - a quirky restaurant - is within 10 minutes walking distance and is a 'must' for a visit (see separate review).

It is built on a hillside so the entrance to the establishment from the street opens onto the top floor. A sign post at knee level points to the entrance which is between garage doors. Entrance is achieved by ringing the bell and one then enters into a surprisingly spacious establishment.

We stayed there on two occasions. The bell was answered promptly and reception was quick and very friendly and one felt that the staff (mainly family) were really interested in you and appreciated suggestions for improvement. The building is built around a rectangular space with the short third side open, except for the wall on the lower level , providing a view of the distant hills. The swimming pool occupies most of the open area on the lower level - we used it on both occasions -it is clean, and long enough to actually swim in – though particular care is needed when walking on the tiles with wet feet. The bedrooms and the outside breakfast area look inwards onto the swimming pool - there is also an inside breakfast area.

The bedrooms are airy and spacious - we stayed on the upper level which I suspect is more airy than the lower level bedrooms - and have a small balcony overlooking the swimming pool (the lower ones have a seating area next to the swimming pool) and a long desk and chair also looking inwards - and with views of distant hills. There is a universal electric point here as well as a normal South African power point - and other power points around the room. The bedroom area is spacious with two armchairs and a small table. A small TV faces the bed, although only few channels (including a sports channel, but no news channel). There is a full length mirror, with the hair dryer conveniently installed next to it, good overhead lighting and pleasantly quiet air conditioning. The bathroom contains a bath as well as a shower cabinet. By the door, which opens to a rear exterior passageway, there is a small work area for tea making and a mini-bar, and a wardrobe with both hanging space and shelves. The only omission is the lack of a room safe, but the owners intend to rectify this. Wifi was free and on the first occasion we visited was fast - on the second occasion their telephone line had broken so was not working.

We had breakfast in the open area looking out over the distant hills. It was a mixture of continental plus cooked to order, and on each occasion provided at a time determined by ourselves.

We will certainly stay here again on a future visit to Namibia.

Room Tip: An upstairs room gives airy views; a downstairs room opens onto the swimming pool.

Great place to start our tour of Namibia. Very helpful and friendly owners! It's walking distance from the centre of Windhoek... and from Joe's Beerhouse. Very clean, well appointed and spacious rooms. The view over Windhoek at breakfast is probably as good as it gets from a guesthouse. Only one little thing..... we hired and collected a 4x4 with a roof tent for our tour and with the roof tent it wouldn't fit in the garages provided, but we removed all the contents and left it just outside the garages and security did not seem to be a problem. Certainly would stay here again if we go back.

A lovely guesthouse in a quiet residential area of Windhoek, about a 20minute walk to the centre of town. The rooms are very well appointed, with WiFi in the rooms, the breakfasts are excellent and the family who own it are lovely. They go the extra mile to help you and make your stay enjoyable. I thoroughly recommend it.

Room Tip: We preferred to be upstairs a bit further from thr pool

I only stayed one night, and so wasn't able to more thoroughly enjoy the genuine hospitality of this family-owned and run guesthouse. It's a new place, and the rooms are modern and spacious with a nice comfortable bed. Wifi in the rooms was great. Breakfast was pleasant, and the outside deck is a great place to sit and relax..though i chose to eat inside as it was a little chilly that morning (at least for me it was!).
In the evening, because of a really light rain, Joos offered to drive me down to nearby Joe's for dinner - and even called ahead to make sure there was a seat for me. It gets busy there, and for good reason. He also left me his number, and asked that i call him afterwards to come back and pick me up...which is way over the call of duty...but was very much appreciated as it was raining harder at that point. It's also a reflection of the type of hospitality that is provided here. I would/will happily recommend this place.

the moment you enter villa vista you feel at home: in my opionion the paramount ingredient for a good guesthouse. responsible for that immediate feeling is an elegant but cosy furniture, tidy and quiet rooms and most of all the two very warm-hearted and friendly owners and their staff.

the rooms are cleverly arranged and close to a clean and charming pool. the breakfast is good and diverse - a tasty warm dish is prepared by the owners everyday. and - everbody seems very relaxed and flexible: even if you are quite late for breakfast because you were out the night before you still get served with a friendly smile. and all that for moderate rates.

bottom line: definitely the place to stay in windhoek. but only recommend to people you like, so it stays the way it is ;-) simon (film-crew, austria/germany)
