Safari Court Hotel
Ranked #13 of 16 Hotels in Windhoek
Reviewed 3 February 2014

this is a huge hotel complex, not at all charming - but convenient with parking space and several eating options within the complex. If you plan to stay in Windhoek this is not your hotel, as you will need a taxi to go to the center. The free shuttle does not operate in the evening so not convenient, and it is not at all walking distance! You need a car or a taxi ( 5 US dollars). The rooms are worn out and in need of upgrading.
Breakfast is good while service is lacking.

I stayed at this hotel for almost a week. My room was spacious and quiet. The furniture and bathroom were rather outdated but adequate. Meals, both on the terrace and in the restaurant, were generally good and reasonably priced. However, one of our group was a vegetarian and she had very limited choices. The hotel does not provide even a single bottle of complimentary water which is most unusual at African hotels. Front desk staff were generally courteous and responsive. The internet system is a bit odd in that one constantly has to request three hour vouchers (which are free). This became tedious over a stay of several days. The breakfast buffet had rather limited choices and almost no fresh fruit. Although the hotel is located outside the city centre, they offer an hourly free shuttle service which was greatly appreciated by our group.

Room Tip: All rooms ending in 23 are very, very far from the elevators.

Average stay. Old hotel complex with good bars and wholesome food. Staff are friendly and accommodating. The room at the hotel (not court) are old and in need of maintenance and attention to detail from cleaning staff. The maintenance team did respond to my complaints immediately which gave me some comfort.

We stayed here for one night and everything about the place is "average". We ate lunch there and it took them over one hour to serve us very average green salads...very slow service. We left the hotel for dinner. The rooms are your average hotel room. The beds are comfortable. If I ever return to Windhoek I will stay somewhere else.

The staff was good and the food good. Our room was seriously in need of an update. The bathroom was old, the bedding old, the carpet old. It is also quite far from downtown. This was a tour, so we had no choice, but we would like to have been in town. There is a beautiful pool area.

The claim is that this is 4 star hotel, maybe in Namibia, but not in the USA for sure. I would guess this would be a two start at best. The lobby was OK and the pool/terrace is nice. The rooms; however, are not that great. The TV is an old 14" tube system, the bathroom is not vented nor drained. Showers result in the floor getting soaked and running under the bathroom door to the carpet inside the room. Internet is pretty much a joke, you have to get a pass word from the front desk that lasts either 3, 6, or 8 hours. Once you have internet it is a painfully slow.

Dear Bubba G,

Thank you kindly for taking the time to write a review about Safari Court Hotel. We appreciate your comments which we have taken note of.

Renovations and upgrading is an ongoing process at Safari Hotels with certain items taking precedence over others. We are currently upgrading our Fire Detection Systems as well as all air-conditioning equipment.

All bathrooms are equipped with extraction fans and glass shower doors to avoid the floor getting soaked with water.

We are aware of the speed of the internet and we are in the process of upgrading to a new and faster internet package with our service provider. You are most welcome to make use of our Business Centre when you next stay with us.

Please do let us know when you are next in Namibia. We look forward to welcoming you back to our Hotel.

This is our second stay. Last time was a disaster. Think they upped the anti for our conference as well as the HUge un conference.

Rooms still grubby- lots of mould!

Breakfast really bad. Greasy and same every day.

Reception staff were fantastic this time.
Room service was disgusting.

So not the best .

Dear Mespey,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay with us. We appreciate the compliment extended to our Reception staff, which we have conveyed to them. Each and every guest is very important to us and we are paying serious attention to increase service levels at our hotel and not in particular to any large conference held somewhere else in the city.

We would very much like to attend to those concerns that made your stay less pleasant to ensure that your next stay will be satisfactory. We would really like you to provide us with more detail to enable us to even further improve our facilities and service. Kindly contact melissa@safarihotelsnamibia.com so that we may put corrective steps into place.

Thanking you.
