“When keeping things simple WORKS”
Reviewed 4 April 2014

This charming old school hotel just sticks to the basics. What I mean is you don't get the fancy key cards for example, but the staff are friendly, you get 5 hours of internet, the air con works and there's a shuttle service all the things I like to have. The meals in the restaurants give you a taste of some of the favourites in Africa like the oxtail which is to die for and various fish dishes.

Dear CarlNcube,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about Safari Court Hotel. We thank you for the compliments received.

We are in the process of upgrading our Wi-Fi and Internet services which will allow longer usage periods in future. We are also looking at the possibility of extending our complimentary shuttle service to new shopping centre developments in Windhoek.

Checked in at 10 PM after a long flight. Immediately placed an order for a few bottles of water. After seven follow up calls I received the water at exactly 12, two hours later. Pathetic. It becomes a different issue when you cannot access water for so long. In fact last time I had water was on my flight four hours earlier and could not get any on the airport when we landed at 9pm. The rest also ranges from poor to average.

this is a huge hotel complex, not at all charming - but convenient with parking space and several eating options within the complex. If you plan to stay in Windhoek this is not your hotel, as you will need a taxi to go to the center. The free shuttle does not operate in the evening so not convenient, and it is not at all walking distance! You need a car or a taxi ( 5 US dollars). The rooms are worn out and in need of upgrading.
Breakfast is good while service is lacking.

I stayed at this hotel for almost a week. My room was spacious and quiet. The furniture and bathroom were rather outdated but adequate. Meals, both on the terrace and in the restaurant, were generally good and reasonably priced. However, one of our group was a vegetarian and she had very limited choices. The hotel does not provide even a single bottle of complimentary water which is most unusual at African hotels. Front desk staff were generally courteous and responsive. The internet system is a bit odd in that one constantly has to request three hour vouchers (which are free). This became tedious over a stay of several days. The breakfast buffet had rather limited choices and almost no fresh fruit. Although the hotel is located outside the city centre, they offer an hourly free shuttle service which was greatly appreciated by our group.

Room Tip: All rooms ending in 23 are very, very far from the elevators.

Average stay. Old hotel complex with good bars and wholesome food. Staff are friendly and accommodating. The room at the hotel (not court) are old and in need of maintenance and attention to detail from cleaning staff. The maintenance team did respond to my complaints immediately which gave me some comfort.

We stayed here for one night and everything about the place is "average". We ate lunch there and it took them over one hour to serve us very average green salads...very slow service. We left the hotel for dinner. The rooms are your average hotel room. The beds are comfortable. If I ever return to Windhoek I will stay somewhere else.

The staff was good and the food good. Our room was seriously in need of an update. The bathroom was old, the bedding old, the carpet old. It is also quite far from downtown. This was a tour, so we had no choice, but we would like to have been in town. There is a beautiful pool area.
