I visit Swaziland on a regular basis and hadn't even heard of this wonderful intimate Guest House situated on the edge of a beautiful valley overlooking the impressive Sibebe Granite outcrop (a massive outcrop of granite with water dribbling down each little crease). Don't be put off by the road to the guest house which is a little rough in places.
The welcome was really warm and classy (with a complementary cup of coffee and slice of chocolate cake) in the comfortable lounge area with spectacular views (which are par for the course) and from there it got better. Down to the room which was large and with a massive King size bed (great mattress and linen with great pillow combinations (1 firm and 2 soft) . Well appointed and classy, the private lounge and full bouquet satellite television was almost expected. Nice touch was the fleecy throw allowing you to snuggle up on the couch to watch TV in the cool evening. Bathroom was also well stocked and spacious. Coffee station also had some really nice detail with delicious biscuits and all sorts of goodies.
I was wrenched back to reality however by the rolls of blade wire (visible below the windows) and the door with about 4 different locking mechanisms which all point to either a certain paranoia or a high expectation and experience of crime. Strange therefore that there is no room safe.
But, more pleasant things as dinner (which has to be pre-arranged and is a little pricey at R200 for 3 courses) or at least the main course (in my case a melt-in-the-mouth fillet steak and vegetables) was truly superb and a feast. Keeping on the restaurant front breakfast next morning was a treat with fresh fruit salad and a pre-ordered full English breakfast which did the English proud.
I loved the place and would love to spend a few days there. The staff were very friendly and lovely people. A bit let down by the lack of a goodbye from management as this would have been the cherry on a really nice stay!

Room Tip: Try the dinners, worthwhile!

We stayed last weekend at Ematjeni Guesthouse and were really impressed! The drive up to the house was spectacular, but nothing could have prepared us for the view from the house itself, and also from our room. It is simply amazing! We were welcomed with chocolate cake and tea/coffee - a very nice touch - and filled in our paperwork in the communal sitting room with that wonderful view. What a welcome! And it just got better - our room was more like a mini suite with large bedroom, sitting room and large bathroom. The bathroom had a fantastic rainshower. A little balcony overlooking the valley and that great view, the sound of the river flowing below, all added to a very special stay! Tea and coffee making facilities in the room meant we could have a cup of tea on the balcony first thing in the morning - bliss! Breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious! Everything very tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. Congratulations to the owners for a wonderful little place in Mbabane. We will be back!
Just one small tip: you cannot pay by credit card, so remember to take cash along. It would be good to mention this on your website?

We were 2 couples staying here. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, from the welcome with coffee and chocolate cake, to a wave goodbye from the owner. The two staff members who looked after us made sure we had all that we needed. An umbrella was even waiting for us outside the door when we went for breakfast on the second rainy morning......and the breakfasts are something in themselves. The little dining room overlooks the most amazing views. The tables are very nicely set with good quality linen. The lounge area is very tastefully furnished and comfortable. We knew it was out of town, but that's what was so nice. The views and the quietness. We found a very nice restaurant just 10 minutes down the road for our evening meals. Without a doubt, would stay here again.

Room Tip: The Eland Suite is wonderful. The Impala Suite also nice with the better view.

Our 'room' was really three large rooms, bedroom, bathroom and sitting room. All were beautifully appointed and the views from the rooms and balcony were stunning. The staff were friendly and very helpful, the breakfasts well presented and great quality. You really need a car if staying here but it is only 5 mins from town and several very good restaurants are even closer. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this guest house to others.

Room Tip: You may pay a bit more for a room with a view - but what a view!

I had a really big room with nice views. Breakfast was accommodating. Everyone was very helpful. Only real downside is that the location is a little out of the way but if u can get by this than you will not be disappointed.
