We stayed overnight at the Forester Arms last weekend - what a delightful little place hidden in the Swaziland hilltops! Every little detail is thought of - even our car was cleaned for us overnight, and tea was delivered to our room first thing in the morning (upon request)
We opted to eat dinner here as well. I liked the idea of the "taster" menu, whereby you can choose two main dishes - food was good, homely-style cooking. Reasonably priced and good selection of wines also offered. Breakfast was abundant and delicious.
The rooms we were in (I was in a double with my husband, and our son was in a twin) were comfortable and cosy (some rooms even have fireplaces - next time we will stay there in winter just to take advantage of this!). I do think the bathrooms could do with an update - ours was sparse and basic, and it was impossible to shower standing up as the shower hose was too short.
The surrounding gardens and grounds are stunning and well kept, with a decent swimming pool. But what really makes this place is the friendliness of the staff and the feeling that nothing is too much trouble! I would highly recommend the Foresters Arms to anyone looking for a relaxing and rather special place to stay in Swaziland. Prices very reasonable!More
