“A tucked away surprise”
Reviewed 9 April 2013

Aimed at our North American friends, with flapjack breakfast, a great Sunday morning venue. Location is not the easiest as it is hidden in a side alley, but worth seeking out

“An in town eatery that looks after most all tastes”
Reviewed 14 January 2013

An in town eatery that looks after most all tastes and even though Kampala is growing up, this type of place is still hard to find - good food, good service - reasonable price

“Old and expensive”
Reviewed 5 January 2013

Used to be a favorite but the food has become less than spectacular and the price has gone up. Hard to find, hard to park, and hasn't kept up with other places in Kampala.

“Out of the way, but, what a treat when you find it!”
Reviewed 17 June 2012

I've been coming to Sam's for 7 years. It's tucked away off in a cul de sac on main Kampala Road - you could easily miss it without knowing where it is.

It's an eclectic place, serving crocodile, kudu, wildebeest and other game meals, whilst at the same, cooking a wide range of Mughlai dishes in that lovely Tandoori oven. The Tandoori whole fish is to die for, so nicely spiced and Tanoori-baked, The game is fresh and excellent,
The veggie dishes, particularly the biryani, are heavenly. All the Tandooris are great, including all the paneers and other veggie dishes.

It's a funny place, almost a drive in. It's not quite as clean as it was when it started out, but, no worries - it's clean enough and the service is excellent and the food out of this world.

Highly recommended for food, atmosphere and service. A must when visiting Kampala!

“Best Brunch on Weekends”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

Named after the owner, Sam's has maintained its spirit through the years. Though a lot of people are attracted by the game meat served here, we personally adore the hearty brunch that can make your sunday.

Tips:
The entry is small entrance on Bombo Road to the left, very easy to miss so do drive slowly when you cross Equatoria Hotel, it will be on your left.
For more steaks, live cooking and a garden atmosphere u can check out Mr. Patels other baby, Phase 2 on Nakasero Road.
