Stayed one night when I arrived from Kabale by Posta Bus..Excellent value for a budget hotel city centre, suprised how large the room was with ensuite bathroom which was spotless clean and had plenty of hot water. Fan in room did not work as electrical conection at the wall was loose .Comfy bed and pillow with intact mosquito net.My room faced the square ,so noisy with traffic however I slept with the window open, no earplugs and I had a good nights sleep.
Breakfast of fruit, eggs, toast and tea was lovely served out on balcony.Did not eat at the restaurant on the 2nd floor.Security guard at entrance before allowing you to reception area.
Bonus of this hotel is the friendly helpful staff and the close proximity to Posta bus and Old Taxi Park.I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again

Room Tip: Rooms facing the square have traffic noise which dies down in the early hours

Ideally situated hotel, right by Constitution Square and the bus station. Cheap, clean and an excellent breakfast of fresh fruit, omelette, bread and tea. I didn't quite believe some of the reviews about the noise before arriving, but they are absolutely correct. Rooms at the back (i.e. not on Constitution Square side) are unbelievably noisy. Even with windows shut and curtains drawn, it feels like you are in a nightclub. After a busy day, it is possible to get to sleep but the noise is still there come 3 or 4 o'clock and later, if you are unfortunate enough to wake up. Location, price and quick, free WiFi are major pros, but definitely ask for a front room.

Room Tip: Constitution Square side!

We stayed here on two different occasions. The first time we were there, we stayed on the street-side. It was noisy- but not nearly as noisy as the second time we stayed and had to listen to BLARING music all. night. long. Really, it felt like we were up in the club trying to go to sleep!

It's really clean, reasonably priced, and located near the matatu parking lot- which makes it easy to get in and out of town... But wow, the noise is crazy. Also, the internet really only worked in the main dining area and was shut off at night, which was a bit of a pain as we were trying to plan for our trip and blog about what we had done...

I would stay here, but maybe best if you plan to go out... Streetside is best for a slightly lower noise level.

Room Tip: Street-side. Not to the back fo the hotel!

After three visits to the city in eleven years this is the best budget hotel I've found in the center of Kampala. If you are going to stay in the center you just can't beat the location on Kampala Ave. It is a 5 minute walk to the Post Office/ Post Bus station and the Old Taxi Stand, from which you can get minibuses/vans to other parts of Uganda, is a few minutes walk around the corner. You never have to use a taxi if you stay here and don't mind a little walking.

My room was comfortable with two beds, a good fan, a spacious bathroom with a wonderful hot shower. It was very clean and had been recently painted. My room was on the Kampala Ave. side of the hotel and had a very good view of the Avenue. The rooms are several stories above ground level and the hotel set back from the busy street so noise isn't too bad. I was there at the noisiest possible time, on a Saturday night after Uganda had won a big football game. There was a celebration in the park across the street and the constant blaring of car horns. I turned on the fan, put in my earplugs and slept like a baby.

The free breakfast was nice (eggs, tropical fruit, toast, tea) on a pleasant balcony and there is a popular restaurant on the second floor of the building.

The staff was helpful and let me leave my bag while I took a day trip to Jinja. As I was leaving my room I remembered that my boots had left the bathroom dirty. I went back and tipped the cleaning lady, who was already at work. The smile she gave me made my day.

Room Tip: I liked the view and breeze on the Kampala Ave side of the building. The noise wasn't too bad bu...

This hotel has a fantastic location. The rooms are large, clean and airy, and great value for money! Free breakfast consists of fresh fruit, omelette, toast and tea, and the free wi-fi is an excellent bonus! The staff are all lovely, the only downside to this hotel is the noise. Rooms at the back have loud music playing and the rooms at the front have traffic noise. However this certainly shouldn't deter you as this is a fantastic value for money hotel, just bring a pair of ear plugs!

Occupying a good location across from the square the hotel is clean, with good hot water and friendly staff. We especially appreciated the late breakfast that they were nice enough to make us. The only major downside is the traffic noise, but it is to be expected being right on Kampala Road.
