Located in a perfect place, rooms and beds are very clean though small.Staffs seems to be untrained with complete lack of respect for guests. My surprise was when I went for breakfast and I was asked to pay an extra fee which Ii had thought was included in cost of accommodation.Non of the staff ever dared to explain this to me.This made my one night here a nightmare.

Most people do not get to find this hotel, but it is a wonderful one not need to go to those backpackers...Kenrock has self contained clean rooms, helpful staff, and most of all the owner is a gentle kind person who goes out of his way to make costumers comfortable and happy at his hotel. The area where the hotel is located is very nice as well, several restaurant of a wide variety within walking distance, the famous "Italian supermarket," you could even walk to Garden City Mall or Oasis if do not mind a 30 min. steady pace.

Hi, everyone!
I've stayed at the Kenrock twice already and I can say- GREAT PLACE! I've heard many times the term like "the home far away from home". So, that's it!
Big room(I lived in 102- it's the best in the hotel), big double-bed, tv, hot water all the time, wi-fi, big balcony. Cleaning is every day. Nice garden on hotel's territory, good for relax. Day-night security.
For all of this - 26 dollars only!:) U can get ur meal at the restaurant right here or go out at another places. By the way, u can reach supermarket, cafe-restaurants, office for changing money by foot in 3-5 minutes. The night life(Capital Pub, De Posh and so on) is also not far- it's a walking distance, about 10 minutes. Kenrock is guest-friendly:)
Ì realy love this place. The staff is helpful and reliable, some of them work here for 5 years and more. My huge respect for the owner(hi, Arun!:)) for the management and for the treating the guests like that. I'm gonna miss u, guys! See u again!
Andrey Login.

Room Tip: My tip is- take the room #102 or #210. First one is bigger, second one is better for sleep.

My first visit to Kenrock was around 2004 when I worked as a consultant in Kampala and Western Uganda. At that time Kenrock had single rooms that went for about UGX5000 (no ensuite). My last visit was in 2012 and big changes have taken place. New extensions have been made although prices have gone up as well but still relatively affordable given inflation has increased over the past decade. Kenrock lies a couple of metres from Kabalagala's busy night life and has parking and night security. It is also easy to access the CBD whether through Nsambya, Kibuli or Namuwongo. I highly recommend the single ensuite rooms (approximately UGX 30 - 40000) if you want a budget room. Please if you're a foreigner it is always safer to store your valuables at the reception.

Room Tip: Single rooms facing the Western side are affordable and self-contained.

I have been staying at Kenrock for more than a dozen times over the last two years, and I will continue go back there as I believe Kenrock is one of the best value for money hotels in Kampala.

The hotel has a good selection of rooms of varying sizes and prices. The rooms are either in the main building or in a smaller building behind the main building. The rooms are clean, have fans, mossy nets, and a tv with centrally connected DSTV channels. And all rooms are ensuite.

The hotel also has a small restaurant whilst drinks can also be bought at reception. The restaurant serves good Indian dishes at very reasonable prices.

The Muyenga area is nice with a fair selection of good restaurants around. For nights out, Kabalaga is just down the hill from the hotel.

All in all, Kenrock is a nice hotel with very fair prices.

The Kenrock is a very good hotel by Kampala standards. It's quiet, safe, clean, well run, in a good location, the rooms are large and cool and many have balconies -- and the comfortable beds have mosquito nets in good condition. The restaurant may be a little unimaginative but there are a couple of very good restaurants nearby (easy walking distance).
The Kenrock is never going to rival the luxury of the Five Star Serena but, if you're on a budget, it's one of the best options in Kampala -- top of the class in terms of value for money.

Room Tip: Ask for an executive room with a balcony.
