“Fascinating Insight to Ugandan History and Culture!”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

Fascinating Insight to Ugandan History and Culture!
A guided tour around the attraction shows the lives of the people who still live on sight, and give history of the clans that still dwell in Kampala its self. Woman in shorts or short skirts will be given a traditional skirt to wear around the site.
Art can be bought at the end off the tour.

“Fascinating insight to the history of Uganda”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

When you arrive you register and a guide greets you. The 10,000 shillings per person is a bargain. While the main attraction is still under construction, the visitors can see the builders getting their experience thatching on other smaller bandas surrounding the central part. The site is high on one of Kampala's 7 hills so there are good views of several places in the capital. The story of bark cloth and how it is made was fascinating! There is an opportunity to buy art on the bark cloth at the end of the tour. Women in shorts or short skirts will be given a wraparound traditional skirt to wear on the tour.

Site is being rebuilt after arson attack in 2010. The guides have the best outlet for Ugandan Art that we saw in our travels

“Great cultural mark”
Reviewed 27 June 2014 via mobile

I went when before the arson and the tombs were quite neat. The keepers still live a traditional lifestyle despite being surrounded by Kampala's urban sprawl. The guides are knowledgeable. If you're in the area, go. I wouldn't make a special trip.
